Uniform Policy At the School Council meeting last Tuesday, School Council approved some modifications to the school uniform policy. This will be sent home to every family so you can read it thoroughly and we can have EVERY student in the school wearing the correct uniform. There have been a few clothes sneak into our studentsapparel that are not items of our Uniform so Term 2 will be the start of everyone wearing the correct uniform as stated in the policy. Please take note of the points below: Leggings can be worn at school but they must be navy blue and full length Shorts, skorts or dresses must be at least three quarter length to the knees – there have been some people wearing shorts that are simply a bit too short. Head bands must be navy blue or white and be plain with no bows etc on them Hair that is shoulder length or longer must be tied back Wrist watches and ear jewellery are the only jewellery to be worn at school. These must be plain standard studs or plain standard sleepers ONLY. At the moment there are a number of students with studs and sleepers that are not plain. These are not permitted to be worn. Apart from school shoes there should be no other item of the uniform that is BLACK We take pride in our school as a school community and wearing the correct uniform is a major part of showing that pride – so please read the uniform policy when you receive it and talk it over with your children. I ask you all to ensure over the holiday break and ensure the correct items are ready for the first day of term 2. Final Assembly We will be holding a final assembly at 12.20 on Friday to meet together and complete the term. You are most welcome to attend. Hopefully the weather is fine and we can do it outside and actually look at the Australian flag when we sing the national anthem as the flag poles have finally been returned and installed. Footy News

Oh dear – five goals up in the final quarter and lose by three goals – not a good finish to the game on Sunday. I am certainly hoping over the holidays that the Hawkers can find their mojo and get back on the winning list to have more wins than loses when we return next term. Ho Hawkers!

At Kilberry Valley Primary School, we believe that student success is dependent upon

good attendance at school. Students need to attend school regularly in order to

participate fully and gain maximum benefit from their schooling. Daily attendance

enables students to access a full education, allowing them to reach their full potential.

Students with poor patterns of attendance in primary school usually have poor patterns

in secondary school and often disengage from school. There is a direct link between

school attendance and achievement in later life. Poor attendance also makes it difficult

for children to form positive relationships with their peers therefore, we feel that regular

attendance is essential for KVPS students.

CHANGE OF CLOTHING FOR STUDENTS

We would like to remind parents to provide a change of clothing in children’s

school bags—preferably some clean underwear, track suit pants,

windcheater, shorts or a dress.

This is handy for ALL children in ALL grade levels .

We ask for your co-operation with this matter as our Sick Bay is unable to cope

with the large volume of people requiring changes of clothing.

One of our children in the school community is receiving medical

treatment which puts them at serious risk if they are exposed to

infectious illnesses, in particular: Chicken -Pox, Measles,

Mumps or Shingles.

It is also important that while your child is unwell they remain at home until they

are no longer contagious. Please let us know immediately by calling

the school office on 9702 8688.

As a school community we value your support in relation to the wellbeing of

all our students.

Any parent who wishes to help out in

our classrooms or on excursions, must provide a current Working With Childrens Card (WWCC) to the office.

On the day you come to assist, please come

through the office and sign in using the visitors kiosk you will be given a “Classroom helper Privacy Agreement” to read and sign.

Please ensure you bring your Working With

Childrens Card with you, to display in our lanyard, which you will wear while in the

classroom or on excursions.

If your child is absent from school, please ring the office on 9702 8688

before 9.30am on the morning of the absence or notify us by e-mail

[email protected].

THANK YOU
