Developing the Grace Mindset to Become a PartakerIn order to walk in healing, or any provision of God’s supernatural grace, we need to develop the Grace Mindset in our life, that thinks, speaks and acts according to our New Creation man.This biblical tool is specifically designed to help us uproot wrong doctrine and recognize subtle suggestions that get us to doubt the Word of God.Whenever we feel, or experience, anything less than the liberty by which Christ has set us free (Galatians 5:1), like fear, depression, condemnation, or symptoms, look at the list on pages 2-3, and pinpoint the subject that seems to speak to your situation. Meditate on the scriptures until they become a revelation, and faith arises. Through this revelation, we will develop the Grace Mindset and begin to walk in the liberty by which Christ has made us free.

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

The Grace Mindset...… understands the mercy of GodWe must understand the all-encompassing completeness of His mercy before our minds can fathom we are eligible for His graceHis Mercy = we don’t get the curse that we do deserve His Grace = His blessings we get that we don’t deserve

Ephesians 28:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

The divine protecting and helping favor of God in which we stand. Our “all access pass” to His supernatural empowerment that He freely gives to us for every need (healing, provision, protection, favor) even though we don’t deserve it.

Romans 5:2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Every grace provision must be accessed by faith

The Grace Mindset...… has boldness to receive grace

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

When we understand God’s great mercy, we will have the ability to believe we qualify for His grace. We’ll be able to go boldly to the throne of grace for every need.

… understands because of His mercy we can have a sure expectation of zóé life now

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

The word “hope” should always be translated as “sure expectation.” The word for “living” is zóé. We have a “sure expectation” of the zóé life, which is defined as “life preserved in the midst of perils, with a suggestion of vigor and absolute fullness of life.” We see we can have this sure expectation of zóé all because of the “resurrection of Jesus from the dead.”

1 Peter 1:4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

5432 phroureó: to guard

We are guarded by the dunamis, miracle-working power of God now while we wait for our full inheritance.

The Grace Mindset...… understands forgiveness that we have received

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to (continually) cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We are forgiven once and for all when we first receive Christ.Wrong doctrine will cause us to think we have to continually “repent” with the incorrect understanding that repentence means we should be “sufficiently remorseful” until God has forgiven us again. This idea causes us to be sin conscious, rather than conscious of our righteousness based on His blood. This is exactly what the devil wants—for us to have evil conscience of sin. *subtle trick

Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

The correct meaning of repentance is to make a complete change of mind, a 180 degree turn.

The Grace Mindset...… understands forgiveness that we giveThe direction to forgive others in the New Covenant is, in the measure we’ve been forgiven, we should also forgive.

Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

In contrast, the Old Testament stated, if we don’t forgive, then we won’t be forgiven.When we focus on the understanding of what we’ve been forgiven, it creates a desire to forgive others in our heart.

Matthew 18:21-35 Study the parable of the forgiven debt

We will have no liberty if we walk in unforgiveness. We are subject to the curse in the ground and in our fleshSince the unsaved are “under the sway of the wicked one,” and even fellow Christians who still oppressed and not walking in liberty, we can understand that every evil perpetrated against us was prompted by a demonic spirit. It takes the emphasis off people and onto the real perpetrator—the devil.Forgiveness is showing mercy toward the behavior, not excusing it, and it does not mean we have to restore the relationship.

The Grace Mindset...… understands our righteousness by faith in Christ, regardless of our failures

Romans 5:17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Our righteousness in Christ is a precious gift we’ve been given. It’s not based on our performance in any way.In same way, our sin is not based on our disobedience (it was Adam’s), our righteousness is not based on our obedience (it’s based on Jesus’ perfect obedience).

Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous

… understands God has bound himself in covenant loyalty to bless usGod never dies, so any covenant made by Him is eternal, and irrevocable.

Genesis 17 … I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” … My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. … I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.

The Grace Mindset...Galatians 3:9 So then those who are of faith are blessed (along) with (the) believing Abraham.

Galatians 3:29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The blessing of Abraham is justification by faith in Christ, having taken our sentence of condemnation upon Himself.Because of the blessing of Abraham, we have access to all the blessings of the righteous, all the Deuteronomy 28 blessings, and all grace blessings (healing, favor, deliverance, provision).

Ps 23:6 NASB Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

2617 checed: kindness, favor—grace § In keeping the covenants, with Abraham, with Moses and Israel.

1656 eleos: mercy, pity, compassion. Translating 2617 checed (covenant-loyalty, covenant-love in the OT-LXX over 170 times) properly, “mercy” as it is defined by loyalty to God’s covenant.

His lovingkindness is His grace, mercy, and covenant loyalty towards us. He has bound Himself to bless us as we access all these things by faith.

The Grace Mindset...… is never fooled by condemnation, regardless of our failures

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

If the devil can get us into condemnation, he’s succeeded in getting us into reverse pride. ie. If we “bite the hook” of self condemnation, we are essentially getting mad at ourselves for not getting it right—but this is why we needed a Savior! *subtle trickWe can’t get it right of ourselves. But as we acknowledge ourselves as totally reliant on Him, and see ourselves covered by the blood, we will be Holy Spirit empowered to walk right!

… knows how to walk in the Spirit, not the fleshFlesh and spirit are contrary, and we walk according to one or the other.

Galatians 5:16 Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

The original lust of the flesh is the automatic response to live according to our own strength, where we are dependant on our own reasoning, and our own strength. *subtle trickThrough this “original” lust, we end up overun and controlled by all those inordinate desires (lusts), like addiction.

The Grace Mindset...… is quick to recognize the law of sin and death, and always lives under the law of the Spirit of life in Christ JesusThere are two laws at work. We’re under one or the other.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Whichever one we’re under means we are subject to the principles and effects of that law. If we can’t identify which one we’re under, we won’t be able to get free from it.We’re under the law of sin and death if:We rely on own effort to fulfil the righteous requirement of the Law, or just live life in our own strength, and our own reasoning. Even having received Jesus as Lord and Savior, eternally saved and sealed by the Holy Spirit, we don’t lose our eternal salvation, but we fall from grace and are subject to the cursed ground and our cursed flesh.We’re under the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus if:We rest in the fact that Jesus carried out the righteous requirement of the law for us. We receive righteousness by faith and we qualify for everything “the righteous” qualify for.

The Grace Mindset...… understands, and has entered into His rest

Hebrews Chapter 4 Study the whole chapter

Hebrews 4:9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

When believe the gospel and put our faith in the blood of Jesus, we have ceased to work to be right in God’s eyes.

Hebrews 4:2 KJV For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest…

Hebrews 4:6 and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

The age of grace, which started at the resurrection, is the age of His rest.

… always stands on grace ground, fully reliant on the Finished Work of Christ Under grace, we stand on blessed ground, fully reliant on the Finished Work.Under the law, we stand on cursed ground, full of self effort.

Galatians 3:1-2 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you… Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

The Grace Mindset...… puts no confidence in the flesh

Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh…

Walking in the flesh is having confidence in our own ability to walk out our life. Not looking to Him for our every need, we are essentially saying we don’t need God’s provision, who is Jesus! This self-focussed mindset closes the door to the supernatural “grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).”Still eternally saved, we make Christ of no effect in our lives. There is no supernatural grace provision. We have fallen from grace (blessed ground), and are standing on cursed ground.Anxiety is a curse of the soul, in bondage by fears of not being able to provide for ourselves in a cursed ground with a cursed flesh. It’s a sign of unbelief of His promise to provide for us, and essentially the same as being in self effort. *subtle trickLiberty in Christ is freedom from the curse of the law, and every oppression it brings, and a demonstration of maturity in Christ.

Galatians 5:4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

The Grace Mindset...… never accepts anything to do with the curse/corruptionWashed in His blood, and fully relying on Him, there is no cause for a curse in our body or on our ground.

Proverbs 26:2 Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.

By faith, we can stand up to any attempt of the enemy to bring us under oppression, and expect God’s supernatural provision and protection.

… sees the Word as forever settled in heavenPsalm 119:89-90 Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations;

John 17:17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

Psalm 138:2 … For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

This is where we draw a line in concrete, not sand. Our confession and sure expectation of His Word coming to pass for us in every circumstance must be our immovable stance.

The Grace Mindset...... understands the fullness of salvation is here and nowSalvation is all encompassing, not just eternal life, and includes healing, deliverance, favor and provision.

4982 sózó: to save, heal, preserve, rescue. From sōs—deliver out of danger and into safety, cure, ensure salvation, get well, made well, recover, restore, principally of God rescuing believers from the penalty and power of sin and into His provisions of divine safety.

Salvation, or the manifestation of being saved, eg. healing appropriated, is the end result of the confession of true faith. We have to release our faith by confessing it and acting on it.

… understands grace gifts are ours, and must be actively appropriated by faith

Romans 5:2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

We have access by faith to all the grace blessings. Everything we need in life is covered under the grace provisions of healing, favor, deliverance, and provision. We can have a sure expectation (hope) of the Holy Spirit empowerment (the glory of God) showing up in time of need.

Galatians 3:5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?— 6 just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham... 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed (along) with (the) believing Abraham.

The Grace Mindset...… knows how to receive revelation that leads to effortless faith“The power of God is in the Word of God” because through the revelation of that Word, true biblical faith arises and prompts an action of faith.

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing (spiritual perception), and hearing by the (rhema) word of God (Christos/the anointing/Holy Spirit power).

189 akoḗ: hearing. Used of inner (spiritual) hearing that goes with receiving faith from God, discerning God’s voice.

The Anatomy of Revelation Faith that Causes Real ChangeWhen the logos Word is illuminated by the Holy Spirit, it becomes revelation. Wisdom is what the Holy Spirit says (rhema). Wisdom causes understanding (revelation). Understanding causes automatic and effortless faith. Faith prompts obedience to what is heard in an action of faith. An action from faith releases the dunamis power. Deu 28:1-2 demonstrates this, and echoes Romans 10:17.

Deuteronomy 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently (spiritually perceive) unto the voice of the Lord thy God (rhema), to observe and to do all his commandments (logos) which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee…

If you hearken unto my voice (rhema) and do my word (logos), then all these blessings will come upon you.

The Grace Mindset...… recognizes the difference between the confession unto faith and the confession of faithWe tend to think mentally agreeing with (believing) the Word is faith. We speak the Word, but then get disappointed when our bodies don’t respond. But there is a difference between believing unto faith and true biblical faith, and a step in between. The confession unto faith is where we keep speaking and meditating on the Word until faith arises. We believe the Word is true, and we say it. We are pressing in to perceive revelation from the Holy Spirit, and pursuing our personal relationship.

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.

The confession of faith is revelation faith that automatically speaks and acts. We have confessed it until we “see it.” Now it has become the confession of faith—we say it because we “know it.”

Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

In between the two is the work of the Holy Spirit. It is what He reveals about the Word we are confessing that causes automatic faith to arise in us. He’s always revealing. We just have to get more sensitive to what He’s saying.

The Grace Mindset...… knows how to step into “the hearing place”We’ve got to get Word in for the Holy Spirit to work on. This is how we receive our daily bread, the living (rhema) Word.

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

The rivers are the rhema Word and hearing His rhema Word causes health.

Ezekiel 47:9 And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. … for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes.

Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Meditating (muttering, musing) on the Word is akin to a cow chewing the cud, extracting every bit of nutrition. We prosper from the revelation faith that arises.

Matthew 16:15 … “Who do you say that I am?” And Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God... 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock (of revelation) I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Revelation has a physical effect. Symptoms go, and the oppression of the devil cannot prevail.

The Grace Mindset...… is led by the Holy Spirit If we learn how to live led by the Spirit we’ll live a Spirit-empowered life

Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Our automatic flesh response is to live according to our own strength, and we end up in works of the flesh

Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Led by the Spirit, we are free from the curse of condemnation, standing on grace ground.

John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

He reminds us of where we stand, and what is available to us, because of the finished work.

The Grace Mindset...… surely expects the glory of God to show up

Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

1680 elpis: expectation, hope, trust, confidence. Expectation of what is sure (certain).

We have to place a sure expectation on the glory of God. If we don’t, we won’t see it.

John 11:40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

Ephesians 1:18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope (sure expectation) of His calling, what are the riches (plutos) of the glory (Holy Spirit power of God) of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness (megethos) of His power (dunamis) toward us who believe (are continually believing), according to the working of His mighty power

… recognizes what our heart is truly believingLuke 6:45 ... For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Be quick to notice what automatically comes out of your mouth unedited. We say we believe the Word, yet when we are not thinking about it, true confessions of unbelief slip out. For example, do you notice yourself saying, “I’m sick,” “I don’t have enough money for that,” “I’m afraid of these consequences.” These common declarations show us we need to saturate in the truth of His saving provisions. No condemnation—we all do it!

The Grace Mindset...… calls it into existence according to the WordWhatever we are believing for, we have to believe from true revelation faith and speak it into existence, before we see it come to pass. We call it that way because we believe it, not because we are trying to make it that way. It is that way because He said it in His Word, and we are speaking it into the world.

Romans 4:18 God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did

We can call it that way, because God said, believe and receive.

The Grace Mindset...… “sees it” done according to the Word before seeing it in the naturalWe must move from trying to convince ourselves of a promise of God, to truly “seeing” it done.

Mark 11:22–24 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ’Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Through revelation of that promise, you’ll “see” that you already have it. When you “see” it done, you’ll believe it. When you believe it, you’ll automatically say it and do it!We must truthfully recognize where we are now (no condemnation—it’s only the devil that wants to condemn). How do you “see” it? What you understand will determine what you believe. What you believe is what you will say. What you say is what you will have.

The Grace Mindset...… partakes of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world, and in the fleshGrace and peace is multiplied in revelation knowledge of Him —the revelation that His Finished Work has qualified us and provided for us. We are qualified to be partakers of the divine nature, here and now!

2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

We don’t have to accept the corruption that is in the world and in the flesh, and by faith, can expect His supernatural provision for our health, our finances, our protection, with His favor blessing us every step of the way!

Colossians 1:9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
