The Ukrainian party is working to increase the efficiency of Viking Intermodal Freight Train.

• A new train composition technique has been developed and implemented.

• The train runs twice a week: • from Odesa region on Mondays and Thursdays,

• from Koziatin on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Page 7: Development and Future Prospects of Cargo Transportation ...

According to the new technique, The Odesa region stations compose the train independently, combining the car groups in case of

insufficient volume.

The Ukrainian railroad stations direct the export and import freight containers to Koziatin station to combine car groups and send them to Korosten station.

Koziatin station of the South-Western Railroad:

• for the train going from Odesa to Klaipėda, combines the car groups arriving from the Odesa region stations and Ukrainian railroads with export and import cargo, and sends the train to Korosten station.

• for the train going from Klaipėda to Odesa, breaks up the car groups going to the Odesa region stations and Ukrainian railroads with export and import cargo, and sends them according to the scheduled destination.

To increase the speed of technical operations at the border, including the customs formalities, Liski Ukrainian State Center of Transport Service provides the cargo information in electronic form to Korosten transfer station at least 4 hours before the arrival of the train.

The technical operations and customs formalities at Korosten station are completed within the time frame of the train schedule.
