Description of Domains

• Gross motor – abilities that involve movements of the entire body, trunk and/or limbs. Ex. sitting, walking, climbing,

• Fine motor – abilities that involve movements of the hands & fingers. Ex. reaching, grasping, writing

• Self-help – abilities involved in activities of daily living. Ex. feeding, dressing, toileting

Description of Domains

• Language – ability to understand the spoken word and ability to use the spoken word to convey one’s thoughts & needs

• Cognitive – ability to think, reason, understand concepts & problem solve. Includes pre-requisite early literacy & numeracy skills

• Social-emotional – ability to respond in an age & culturally appropriate manner to social situations & interpersonal relationships

What the national level will do

• Translate the ECCD checklist into Filipino – will involve some D/CNPCs
