Causes of imbalance

Movement and physical function requires a balance between muscle tone, strength and length. Repeatd movements in one direction or sustained postures can quickly setup a muscle imbalance that can ultimatley lead to the dysfunction of a joint.

For example, the lower half of a football player, or the right arm of right arm bowler might be very strong when compared to the opposing muscle.

How does it affect you?

A lot of musculoskeletal conditions are caused by muscles imbalance of opposing muscles in different regions. this can be seen commonly in the area of Gynoid, Trunk, Andriod, and Lumbar Spine regions.

These imbalances could have already caused an injury or could cause an injury in the near future. A major cause of back pain is the overuse of some muscles compared to others.

How to Improve?

There are thing you could do to reduce imbalances:

- Talk to a physiotherapist- Stretching exercises- Increase muscle mass through exercise- Correct your posture- Perform daily chores with your weaker side- Take breaks if you have a desk job- Although spot reduction of fat is not possible, reduce overall body fat.

VISCERAL FAT ANALYSIS

TYPES OF FAT

Essential Fat is essential for your life and ahealthy body, found in your brain, bonemarrow, nerves.

Subcutaneous Fat is the fat stored under theskin & makes up the majority of your body fat. It’s the fat that you can squeeze or pinch

Visceral Fat is the fat that’s stored in yourabdomen and around all of your major organs, such as the liver, kidneys, heart, etc.

Abdomen Muscles

Subcutaneous

Visceral

HOW TO REDUCE IT?

Generally, a reduction in your overall body fat will reduce your Visceral fat as well. Other things which should help include:

- Reducing carb intake- Avoiding processed foods- Avoiding Trans-fat- Reducing alcohol intake- Exercising- Reducing added sugar- Consuming more protein

HARMFUL EFFECTS

Because visceral fat is in the abdominal cavity, it is close to many vital organs and hence highly dangerous in excess amounts. It can cause:

Type-2 diabetes | Heart Attacks | Stroke | Raised Blood Pressure | Alzheimer's Disease | Breast and Colorectal cancer

BONE DENSITY COMPARISON

‹LOWER AVER AGE HIGHER ›

• In comparison with other 30 year olds.• In Comparison with others of Same age

Here, we compare your bone density to that with a healthy 30 year old and also with others of your same age.

What is T-Score and Z-Score?

Young Adult T-Score on your bone density report shows how much your bone mass differs from the bone mass of an average healthy 30 year old adult.

Age matched Z-score compares your bone density to the average bone density of people your own age and gender.

Example: if you are a 60-year-old female, a Z-score compares your bone density to the average bone density of 60-year-old females.

When should I be concerned?

Osteoporosis is a medical condition in whichthe bones become brittle and fragile from loss of tissue. T-score < 2.5 is a diagnosis forOsteoporosis and should consult a doctorimmediately.

Osteopenia is when your bones are weakerthan normal but not so far gone that theybreak easily. T-Score between -1 and -2.5is indicative of that.

How to Improve Bone Density?

» BodyInsight does not diagnose bone related issues and you should seek medical help if you have any issues.

Some things generally known to promote healthy bones are:

- Sufficient Calcium and Vitamin D- Avoiding smoking and drinking- Reducing weight

RESTING METABOLIC RATE (RMR)

YOUR RMR ESTIMATE

1762kcals

*This is an estimate of resting metabolic rate using the Katch-Mcardle formula.

What is RMR?

Your Resting Metabolic Rate is the number of calories your body requires if you were to lay in bed at rest for an entire day.

You can add the calories that you burn from your daily activities and workouts and calculate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure.

It is information unique to your body and forms the basis for nutrition planning. Knowing this is crucial in overcoming plateaus in your weight loss journey

Want more accurate data?

The RMR value provided here is an estimateand calculated using your lean mass only. However, there are a lot of other factors which affect your RMR.

Hence, we also conduct RMR tests usingmixing-chamber technology, the gold standard for RMR testing. It is a simple 10-15 minute test where you lie down on a chair and breath through a pipe. Typically costing Rs. 5,500 - 8,000.

We offer it for just Rs. 2,499/-

ANDROID - GYNOID RATIO (A/G)

YOUR A/G RATIO

0.90Also known as Waist to Hip ratio

What is A-G Ratio?

Android by Gynoid Ratio is also sometimesreferred to as Waist to Hip Ratio. It is nothingbut the ratio of fat percentage in your androidregion to the fat percentage of your gynoidregion.

Earlier, this used to be measured in inches. This was a flawed, because a person withmore inches could still have lower fat % if theyhad more muscle there. That is why we preferfat % instead of inches

What is its significance?

Determining the ratio of Android to Gynoid fat and monitoring that ratio (you want it below 1.0)—is critical because it’s directly correlated to the prevalence of visceral fat, and can determine your body shape.

Ideally you want your Android region to carry less fat compared to your Gynoid region.

A-G ratio less than 1 is generally associated with pear shaped bodies, while a value greater than 1 is associated with apple shaped bodies.

REGIONAL LEAN TISSUE TRENDSThe following graphs show how lean tissue amounts in different regions of your body have changed over time. These graphs show how your body’s muscle development in each area has responded to your training and/or nutrition program. Each individual will gain and lose lean tissue differently. *BodyInsight will continue to track these regions with each subsequent scan.
