Catherine Stephens is the senior designer at Algiere Design, a hospitality design firm based out of Plano, Texas. With two decades of experience (including designs for Hilton, Marriott, Starwood and IHG), Catherine takes pride in her ability to transform spaces by bringing ideas and inspiration to life. Thriving on design challenges, she tailors her approach to each new project by visiting the site, taking innumerable photos and conducting competitive market research before beginning her design. Key to the success of all Catherine’s designs is thoughtfulness—not just about design, but about operations and product selections.

HIGH ON AN OKLAHOMA MOUNTAINTOP, DELTA® HELPED TURN CLINICAL INTO HOSPITABLE.

A natural solution to a renovation challenge.

Tucked into the heart of Oklahoma’s Arbuckle Mountains, the Chickasaw Retreat and Conference Center offers its guests 100,000 square feet of space designed for comfortable lodging, dining, relaxing and meeting. Originally built in 1994 as a health and wellness center, the facility was underused by the Chickasaw Nation—which hired Algiere to renovate the property as a hospitality destination. Taking her cues from the natural surroundings, senior designer Catherine Stephens transformed the once-clinical atmosphere with stone walls, natural hardwoods—and the Delta Lahara® Collection.

An idyllic look—and an inspiring finish.

The Lahara faucet’s sleek spout and one-piece curved handles have a natural fluidity that complemented Stephens’ redesign. As well as faucets, Stephens selected Lahara showers and towel bars, all in the Delta warm, Champagne Bronze™ finish—the look of which inspired the designer’s choice of tile and art in the center’s guest rooms and suites. Today, the Chickasaw Retreat welcomes a steady stream of visitors—thanks to a reimagined space as beautiful as the scenery around it.
