The report further includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies regarding sexual assault and other matters. ABOUT US Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ultrasound) is a medical technology using highly sophisticated, computer driven imaging devices to produce dynamic multi-dimensional visual images of organs, tissue and blood flow. As a radiation-free medical imaging modality, it provides important clinical information for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Since CAHE opened its doors in 2007, the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program has been one of the largest and most sought-after programs at the Center. This 74-week program offers students a full and varied curriculum, integrating didactic instruction and hands-on clinical experience beginning in the first year of the Program. Echocardiography & Vascular Track is a new concentration* designed to accommodate growing demand for Echocardiographers and Ultrasound Technologists at hospitals, medical centers, senior care facilities and imaging centers. APPLICATION PROCESS

Step 1: Apply online at www.cahe.edu/apply

Step 2: Entrance Exam, unless exempt (see www.cahe.edu/faq#admissions for requirements)

Step 3: Interview with members of the Admissions Committee

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In order to qualify for the program, candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years of age prior to orientation

• Hold a High School Diploma or a High School Equivalency Diploma/GED

• Meet the technical standards of the program which can be viewed at www.cahe.edu/technicalstandards

CLINICAL SITES*Clinical education is an integral part of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography curriculum. Working alongside qualified clinical staff with real patients provides students with the opportunity to develop confidence, become competent in their skills, and accustomed to the healthcare environment they will ultimately seek to work in. *CAHE’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program (Echo & Vascular Track) is NEW for 2018 and in the process of seeking accreditation by the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

COLLEGE AFFILIATIONSThrough the strategic partnership with SUNY Empire State College (SUNY ESC), graduates who enter the program without a degree will be awarded an associate degree from SUNY ESC, as well as a certificate from Center for Allied Health Education.

Center for Allied Health Education has agreements in place with St. Francis College and Clarion University of Pennsylvania’s online college programs which stipulate that graduates of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program will receive credits towards a bachelor’s degree from these institutions.
