What is Pneumonia?

Pneumonia is a serious lung disorder and an inflammatory condition of the lung, leading to a number of Patients being admitted to Intensive Care-affecting primarily the microscopic air sacs known as alveoli.

PATIENT HISTORYChief Complaint : Difficulty of BreathingGeneral Data :This is a case of a 74 y.o female Filipino, presently residing in Adelina 3 Binan, Laguna who was admitted in Perpetual Help Hospital on September 17, 2009History of Present Illness: 5 days prior to admission, patient had positive signs and symptoms of cough, yellowish pleghm, repeated fever and back pain. Knowing that these signs and symptoms were just forms of little discomforts, she self medicated with paracetamol. However, she noticed no changes and experienced difficulty of breathing so she spught medical consultation.

indication for PA is patient who is confined to bed. If

there is doubt, look at relationship of the

scapulae to lung margins. the normal posture for

films is erect. The patient in full inspirationt.
