Important• Each DRL lamp is a sealed unit designed to be waterproof. The lens and lamp housing are bonded together. Opening

or attempting to open the unit will allow water ingress and void any warranty.

• Before commencing any of the fitting operations, ensure that the vehicle is parked safely off the road with thehandbrake on and the correct fuse or fuses are removed to isolate the side light circuit.

• Read the instructions carefully before starting to fit the lamps, if in doubt consult a qualified auto electrician.

Mounting the lampsThe lamps are designed for mounting below the bumper, valance, and grill or in a suitable recess within the bumper.Check your chosen position carefully to ensure that when fitted and during installation it does not foul any piping orwiring. It is important to make sure that, wherever the lamps are mounted, the lenses are the correct way up. Alwayshave TOP facing uppermost. Mount the lamps using the adhesive pads and self tapping screws provided.

1. Drill a 1mm hole for each of the self tapping screws.

2. Before using each of the adhesive pads, clean the position on the vehicle where the bracket is to be mounted, and thebracket with the wipe provided.

3. Ensure that the lamp is mounted rigidly and does not vibrate.

Wiring the lamps1. Secure the AUTOMATIC SWITCHING UNIT (RLFK400) to a suitable position inside the engine

compartment, using the self tapping screws and the adhesive pads provided. First clean the surface to be used with the wipe supplied. Ensure the lamp is away from any heat source or moving parts.

2. Secure each of the DRL CONTROL MODULES to a suitable position inside the engine compartment using theadhesive pad provided. First clean the surface to be used with the wipe supplied. Fasten the modules at a maximumof 900mm from each lamp to allow enough cable to make a connection. Ensure the unit is away from any heatsource or moving parts.

3. Connect the rectangular white connectors from each DRL into the corresponding socket on the DRL CONTROL MODULE.

4. Connect the red positive bullet connectors from both DRL CONTROL MODULES to the double connector on the red positive wire coming from the AUTOMATIC SWITCHING UNIT.

5. Connect the black negative bullet connectors from both DRL CONTROL MODULES to the double connector on the black negative wire from the AUTOMATIC SWITCHING UNIT.

6. Option A, (recommended) DRL wiring - Connect the orange positive wire from the AUTOMATIC SWITCHING UNIT to the vehicle side light circuit using the blue scotch lock provided. (Check vehicle handbook for the appropriate wire colour).

7. Option B, (optional) Position light wiring - Do not connect, and isolate the orange wire using suitableelectrical tape.

8. Connect the red wire from the AUTOMATIC SWITCHING UNIT to the red positive terminal on the vehicle battery.

9. Connect the black wire from the AUTOMATIC SWITCHING UNIT to the black, negative terminal on the vehiclebattery or another suitable earth point.

10. Secure the cables using the cable ties supplied. Ensure all electrical components and wiring is away from any heatsource or moving parts.

11. Replace any fuses removed.

Fuse ReplacementThe AUTOMATIC SWITCHING UNIT requires a 3 amp blade fuse. This is located on the red wire connected to the vehicle battery.

AftercareWash lamps with a mild solution of soap and water to remove dirt etc. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners.

When fitting a pair of Daylight Running Lamps (DRL) you should obey the following legal requirements:

The lamps should be positioned symmetrically and in pairs; the same heightfrom the road and the same distance from the sides of the vehicle.

The lamps should be fitted so that their outer edges are no more than 400mmfrom the outer edge of the vehicle. Height above the ground must be aminimum of 250mm and a maximum of 1500mm.

WARNING: The lamps must be positioned to ensure the light emitted does not dazzle other road users.

Daytime Running LightsIf fitted as Daytime Running Lights the lamps will be ON when the engine is running and OFF whenever thevehicle sidelights are turned on. (See wiring option A)

Position Lights (Optional)If fitted as Position Lights the lamps can be illuminated at all times when the vehicles ignition is on. (See wiring option B)

Equipment Required• Electrical and a cross headed screwdriver

• Hand drill with 1mm drill bit

• Alan key (supplied with DRL kit)

• Terminal crimp or pliers

• Suitable wire termination to suit the vehicle battery posts

• 1 Scotch lock (supplied with DRL kit)

Lamp LEDsThe lamps use 5 x 1.5w LEDs. Due to the life span, the LEDs are a non-serviceable part.
