Terms and Conditions

• A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of €1500 secures the date and guarantees your booking. The

deposit indicates acceptance and understanding of the terms and conditions.

• Bookings will be held on a provisional basis for two weeks after which time if no deposit is forthcoming

the provisional booked date will be released automatically.

• The owners and management reserve the right to refund deposits in circumstances where a booking is

made through a third party or under false pretences. In order to tailor a suitable and individual package

the wedding couple must meet with the Moyvalley Wedding Coordinator at time of booking

• The wedding date is only guaranteed when the booking deposit is received and clears our bank and

written confirmation of the booking contract is sent by the Wedding Coordinator.

• A schedule of additional payments will be sent with this written confirmation: -

• 50% of the cost must be paid 3 Months prior to the wedding date. 40% must be paid 4 weeks before the

wedding date. The Balance must be paid 7 days before the wedding date.

• Any additional expenditure incurred must be settled on departure by cash, bank draft, debit or credit

card

• Failure to pay on or before the scheduled dates may result in the wedding being cancelled with a loss of

previous payments

• All balances must be paid on checkout. Balances will be debited from the credit card on file within three

days of checkout.

• At the discretion of owners and management if and event is cancelled you may be allowed to transfer all

payments to an available and alternative date within twelve months of the original date.

• The owners and management of Moyvalley reserve the right to cancel the booked date in the following

circumstances:

• If the booking prejudices the reputation of the Moyvalley Estate

• If guests attending the wedding behave in anyway detrimental to, offensive or contrary to acceptable

standards of behaviour

• It is imperative that all patrons observe and follow all lawfully issued health and safety advice given by

responsible employees



• No alcohol or food is allowed to be brought onto the premises by guests with the exception of

wedding cake.

• Menus must be selected and communicated to the Wedding Coordinator 8 weeks before the

event. Menu items and prices may be subject to seasonal variation and availability. Once an

amount is agreed there will be no variation in price unless additional items or services are

requested.

• Final numbers must be given to the Wedding Coordinator 72 hours before the date of the

wedding. This is the minimum number charged for on the date of the wedding.

• Wine vintages may vary from time to time depending on choice or other supply issues.

• Children 16 and over will be charged as adults. Children under 16 will be offered a 1⁄2 portions

adult menu.

• Any unconfirmed bedrooms will be released 6 weeks prior to the event

• Check in time is 3 pm for hotel / Balyna bedrooms and cottages. Check out time is 12 noon.

• Rental times for Balyna House are from 3 pm to 12 noon next day.

• Rooming List for Balyna House should be provided by wedding couple not later than 1 month

prior, any rooms unpaid would automatically be transferred to the main bill.

• Please note should there be an event booked a day before your wedding in Moyvalley Hotel or

Balyna House, we would be happy to place any items around for you.

• The residents bar is for patrons and guests staying in the hotel or the other accommodation

options available on the Estate.

• All amendments and/or cancellations must be communicated to the Wedding Coordinator as soon

as the bride or groom becomes aware of such changes. These changes do not come into effect until

they are received in the hotel in writing from the bride or groom.

• Moyvalley accepts no responsibility for any entertainment or other services not booked and

agreed in writing. It is the duty of the wedding couple to ensure that all external service providers

are fully compliant with own insurance and the Health and Safety issues surrounding the

provision of such services.

• The management reserve the right to admit or restrict guests to specific areas of the Estate. Any

damages caused by patrons will be discussed with the bridal party and may be charged to their

account.



• At all times it is the responsibility of parents or a designated mature person to supervise young

children and be aware of their location on the Estate throughout their stay.

• Food and beverage consumed on the premises must be purchased from the hotel with the

exception of the wedding cake.

• The Wedding Coordinator in consultation with the wedding couple will establish locations for

photographs.

• The owners and managers will assist where possible with storage requests for equipment, personal

property and the wedding cake.

• We cannot, however, take any responsibility for loss or damage to items placed in storage.

• Moyvalley Hotel reserves the right to accommodate two weddings on the same day.

• The hotel will not take responsibility for wedding cakes. The wedding couple are responsible for

the delivery and collection of their wedding cake. The hotel will not store wedding cakes for more

than 4 days after wedding.

• Nothing in this contract limits or reduces the statutory rights of all our visitors.

• All prices are quoted in Euros inclusive of VAT. If the VAT Rate changes we are legally obliged to

adjust the quote accordingly.

• The hotel does not accept responsibility for any flowers or bouquets – all bouquets must be taken

with wedding party on departure.

• The hotel does not accept responsibility for any cards lost on the premises.

• Music finishes at 2.00 am.

• The Function Room Bar closes at 2.00 am. The Residents Bar closes at 3.30am.

• A minimum of 20 bedrooms must be booked for a wedding in both venues

• All rooms unconfirmed will be released 6 weeks before the event.

• When Balyna House is taken for a wedding or drinks reception all 10 bedrooms must be booked.
