The Mining Association of Canada has recognized two of Canada's miners with its Toward Sustainable Mining (TSM) Awards.Dominion Diamond Corp. and Diavik Diamond Mine were jointly awarded the 2015 TSM Environmental Excellence Award ( The Mining Association of Canada) for their joint regional grizzly bear DNA program in the Northwest Territories. This is the largest program of its kind in the Northwest Territories, and it has attracted the participation of two additional mines, Snap Lake and Gahcho Kué. Based on the success of the NT program, the government of Nunavut has deployed similar programs at several sites.
