Bishop Steven is inviting us to be part of 72 hours continuous prayer for this Diocese from 8am on Thursday 30 May. This global prayer movement which invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. There is a roster available on the Diocesan website where you may sign upto pray for 1 hour for this Diocese and its people wherever you might happen to be. This Parish usually prays for Christian Unity between Ascension Day and Pentecost. Our relationships with people of other denominations is part of how we live and proclaim the Gospel of Christ so it is consistent with Bishop Steven`s invitation to prayer. BYO Parish Quiz - Missions Fundraiser Friday June 21, 6.30 pm in St Nics Hall, for our annual Parish Quiz - same format as last year so think of some great questions to bring along to test your fellow Parishioners with.   • Prayers The Wider Church Today we pray for the Province of Southern Africa, which serves the Republic of South Africa, Mozambique, the Republic of Namibia, the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Kingdom of Swaziland, Angola and St Helena.

    In the Diocese We pray for the Parish of Upper Clutha and Vicar Damon Plimmer. We pray also for the Social Justice Commission

    In the Community We pray for education services in this country: teachers, pupils, administrators, support staff, parents and caregivers. We pray for road safety as Winter sets in, and in particular for safety for those using the Portobello Road as it is widened. We pray also for safety for workers in support services.

    Prayers for the Parish We pray for the St Aidan’s community as they hold their final regular service at Macandrew Bay. We pray for the ministry and witness of that community. We pray for faithforfamilies@5 and their ongoing ministry in Macandrew Bay. We encourage ongoing prayer for our Parish as we navigate these challenging time ahead, and pray for God’s peace, guidance and hope as we adjust to our changing circumstances. Telephone Scam The police are warning of a current telephone scam where a caller claims to be from Spark New Zealand, offers to assist with an alleged computer problem and attempts to get people's bank account details. If you receive such a call, police advise that you hang up immediately. Spark New Zealand has confirmed that they never contact their customers this way to request bank account, credit card or internet banking details or to request access to personal computers. Diocesan Ministry School Advance notice - Ministry School will take place at Burns Lodge, Mosgiel from 23rd to 25th July. Please mark your diaries now. More information to follow.
