TURKEY

DIAR,8 )OSTER B, NATAS-A

DIAR, B, A/K-E AND RIAN

Day 1: Our plane landed around 7 pm. After we got out we needed to go to a bus

which brought us to the Turkisch school and our host familiy's. After a littlemeeting we went with our host back to their houses. We spent the night there. I ate

something and immediatly fell asleep.

Day 2: First everyone needed to assemble at the school and from there we went to 2parcs, which weren't very special for us because we are used to lots of parcs and

forests. All of us lunched at a fancy restaurant close to the Bosporus. Afterwards

we went to Miniatürk. That was nice to see it looked like Madurodam. After thatsome of the students went including me went to Mall of Istanbul, I didn't buy there

a lot. We had some traditional food, döner it was nothing like döner in the

Netherlands. After that the shops closed and we went to go bole in the Mall it was alot of fun I almost won.

Day 3: This day we visited the school. It was a really big school. It was awkward to

walk around the school because all of the Turkish students were looking at us. We

are really special there. After a longs sit what supossed to be class we had to have a

Turkish lesson. A man who didn't speak any English learned us some Turkishwords. We had some disgusting lunch in the school canteen. And in the evening we

had a farewell party. We danced on Paul Elstak, that was really fun.

Day 4: We had to get up early because we went on a program with Serkan. He had

arranged a breakfest and a little trip through Istanbul city. We went to somemosques and the grand bazar (which wasn't that grand if you ask me). It was fun tosee all of this, the mosques really were beautiful. I really thought I would enjoy the

Grand Bazar but in fact it was a big disappointment. But I had a lot of fun because Iwas with great people. After that we would go away back to our hosts. Butsomeone came up with the idea of going to Starbucks and our bus went to their

again in Mall of Istanbul.

Day 5: We again needed to get up early we would go away from the school with

the Danish people. There were some troubles at the airport sadly, stupid people

can't get away from someones stuff. The plane flight was okay besides that problemand we arriver home at 6pm.

#o@y( A0ter drin+ing soething and tal+ a lot $e $ent &a#+ to the houses o0 the hosts( 1e had to !re!are 0or

the good&ye !arty that night( At the !arty $e $ere dan#ing and singing a lot* &ut you sa$ soe di00eren#e

&et$een the Dut#h and Tur+ish !u!ils* the Tur+ish $ere dan#ing %ery traditional dan#es and the Dut#h $ere

NETHERLANDS

DIAR,8 S/..AR, FRO. THE CLASS

Day 1

Arrival of our guests, some countries arrived early so they had a free day with theirhosts to do something. But a few countries arrived very late so they headed straight

to bed to be fit for the next day.

Day 2

The second day we went to school to take the bus from there for our trip. We got

Carmel College bags with essentials like pen, paper and a hat to keep warm. Ourfirst stop was the Dutch historical monument: The Hunebedden in Borger. Our

history teacher quickly explained what they were for, and we had time to takepictures and climb on them. We went back to the bus and our next stop was a

traditional Dutch mill. We had a whole tour by the owner of the mill, and he

explained and showed a lot of things. Our last stop was the city Groningen, thecapital of the North. We started of with a walk past the important parts of the city.

Then we got treated with a delicious meal of many pancakes at the Pancake Ship, a

restaurant on a boat on the canal. With our belly's full, we got some free time toexplore the city of Groningen, go shopping for example. We met at the station with

everybody to end the day and returned with the bus to Emmen. Then we had a freeevening.

Day 3

This day was spend at school. We gathered in the TTO lounge and started off with

a tour with questions of the school, we participated in a PE class. Afterwards we

had the presentations of each country in a big classroom. Then that we weredivided in groups and had multiple workshops contributing to the theme of watermanagement and how to debate, preparing us for the public debate we would have

this evening in the public library. We ate a Dutch lunch at school in between twoworkshops.

In the evening we had the debate we were preparing for all day. We gathered in thelibrary and the teachers told us who were going to debate. The teams got time to

prepare themselves and a guest speaker told us about water management in the

Netherlands and how other countries could learn from this. Then the debates took

place, with a jury that consisted of students as well! The winners were announcedand were given a sustainable water bottle.

Day 4

The Saturday was the free day with the host family. Some people went to

Amsterdam, some people went ice skating, and others went to the zoo.

Then in the evening we had the farewell dinner and party in the Hampshire hotel.There was a DJ and lots of space to dance. We talked a lot and said our goodbyes,

because we wouldn't see everyone again the next day.

SPAIN

DIAR, B, DELI

Day 1:

We met very early in the morning at school. We took a taxi to the airport in Germany and

from there it was a short flight in Santander. Because we left so early we also arrived

early. We went to the teachers hotel and the !ortuguese were already there" We

contacted our hosts that we arrived and they also came to the hotel# instead of going

home directly we went for a walk with the students who had already arrived and the

hosts# they showed us the $each and they took us to a caf% if we wanted to eat

something. We also had traditional Spanish ice cream. &t was very nice to already $e a$le

to do something the day you arrived# then you already met some people and are excited

to see them the next day.

Day ':

(he second day we went to the school# every country did their presentation on

sustaina$ility in a $ig theatre)like room. (hen we had lunch# tradition Spanish food:

seafood and some sort of Spanish omelet. &t was very delicious. We went $ack to the

room where we did the presentations and we were presented with a presentation $y a$iology teacher from another school whom# with a research group# had researched

sustaina$ility in relationship to economics.

*fter that we were free# everyone went to have dinner and later all the students met

again at a caf% and we drank traditional Spanish hot chocolate. (here were also some

teachers and we received our +omenius pro,ect diploma from the Spanish teacher which

was very nice as a souvenir to this experience.

Day -:

(he next day we went to the l Soplao +ave with $eautiful rocks. (he guide told us a$out

its history in nglish. &t was very $eautiful. *fter that we went to some sort of iron

adaption process which was very sustaina$le $ecause it was all natural# water created

pressure# pressure created wind# wind created fire. (he nice thing was that they actually

showed it working and not ,ust told a$out it. (hen we went to a authentic Spanish village.

(hey had traditional Spanish shops and houses and we got some free time to $uy

souvenirs. We learned from our hosts and teachers that this was all in some sort of

province# +anta$ria. &t is known for its caves and mountains. (he village seemed /uite

touristic $ut when we were there it wasnt $usy.

Day 0:

(he saturday was also spent with the whole group which was nice. We went to the

summer palace of the king that he had in Santander. * guide showed us the rooms and

what they served for# how they had changed in the years and when the king or /ueen

was there and what they did.Walking out of the palace there was some sort of pu$lic oo. 2ext to the sea there were

for example penguins. We strolled in this park and walked to a sea museum. &t had

a/uariums with fishes $ut also fossils and $ones. * guide told us a$out the history of

those. (here were also miniatures of discovery ships. But the real fishes were most

exciting.

&n the evening we had the farewell dinner. We chose what we wanted to eat and it was

very delicious and filling. Spanish music was played in the $ackground and also a soccer

game $etween Spanish and !ortuguese players which was funny to see the Spanish and

!ortuguese looking at that. Sadly at some point we had to say farewell and leave and go

home.

Day 3:

We drove to the airport# said our last good$yes and see you soons and departed to

the2etherlands.
