A Short Course on Systems Engineering Principles and Practice

A short course on “Systems Engineering Principles and Practices” was conducted at DIAT (DU) during 7–11th May

2012. Dr. Prahlada, Vice Chancellor, had inaugurated the programme. In his opening remarks, he brought out the importance and significance of Systems Engineering in executing projects effectively and efficiently. Systems Engineering (SE) has evolved over the last two decades as a discipline that provides guidelines and methodologies to help in delivering systems on time and within the budget while meeting the user requirements. Its principles and practices are particularly important to be put in place and adhered to in the context of complex engineering systems and, in particular, Aerospace Systems. Systems Engineering Advisory Board (SEAB) is a recent initiative of the DRDO to formulate steps regarding assimilation of Systems Engineering practices within various DRDO organizations. SEAB and CASDE of IIT Bombay have jointly conceived the overall concept of the course.
