Did you know?

Our media center has 7,590 books.

That’s 10 books per student and meets minimum state standards.

The average copyright age of our nonfiction books is 6 years (2002).

That exceeds minimum state standards by 4 years.

Last year we added739 new books.

Most of these were new fiction, graphic novels, and geography and history titles.

44% of our total collection is fiction.

That’s 3,309 books.

11% is geography and history.

That’s 814 books.

9% is natural sciences and mathematics.

That’s 652 books.

Our media center circulated almost 16,000 books last year.

That’s an average of 530 books each week.

43% of these were checked out to6th graders.

That’s 6,880 books.

44% were checked out to 7th graders.

That’s 7,040 books.

13% were checked out to 8th graders.

That’s 2,080 books.

47% of books that circulated were fiction.

15% were graphic novels.

6% were sports.

19 major studiesshow that a strong school library media program leads tostudent achievement.
