29 Bones Lane,Barking,
Yeovil,England,
BA21 4DG.Dear Pendragons, The last few weeks have been wonderful! Since moving in with my new family I have been lucky enough to know what it is means to feel special. They have taken very great care of me and are now busy teaching me lots of new things.
They play a game with a small ball or a long stick. Someone throws it as far away from them as possible and then I quickly run after it and bring it back to them. It’s brilliant fun. We play it for hours and hours. Afterwards I am so tired I have to have a little nap.
I have been barking and growling at all the cats that come into our garden. They think I am asleep because I lie very still and close my eyes, so they jump down onto the grass and walk past me. When they come very close I spring up and chase after them! They don’t play that so often now.
I was very worried about leaving my brothers and sisters at the zoo, but I am very lucky to be a pet because everyone looks after me. I get lots of cuddles and they know just where I like to be scratched on my tummy.

What do we know about letters?
From the letters we have seen, we know:
* An address will tell you who and where the letter came from, or who and where it is going to
* Places and names begin with capital letters
* Dear and Love from are sometimes used at the start and end
* Can be written in the past tense – telling you something that has already happened.
* Letters can ask for something, or can tell you about something.
What else can we discover about letters?
We think letters can:
1.

Dear Granny,
The weather is wonderful here on holiday. We have been outside everyday! I have built lots of sandcastles and played in the rock pools. One day a huge crab pinched my big toe. I have seen lots of starfish and have collected very pretty shells. I can’t wait to show you! I hope you are having a good rest.

Dear Uncle Scar,
Please can you send me a new warm woolly hat? It is very cold here in England, not like it is in Africa. My paws are very cold and the tip of my nose has turned blue! I don’t want my ears to get frost-bite so please be quick in sending me a hat!

Dear Amijit,
Thank you very much for your postcard. It sounds like you are having a very exciting time! I will be so happy to see your beautiful sea-shell collection.
I am having a lovely rest, thank you, but I miss you very much and can’t wait until you come home again. I hope that you will be able to show me how to make a sandcastle and will tell me about all of things you have seen in the rock pools.
Thank you for cheering up your old granny with the funny story about the crab. It did make me giggle.
