CONCEPT:
INTENT:The form of the toilet
was derived from the
element of liquid. The
idea was to harmonize
both form, and function.
The organic form of the
toilet was incorporated
via the fluidity of the
liquid state.
CONCEPT:

INTENT:The design intent was
to create a toilet with
drama and elegance into
a small space. The space
of this toilet is 2200 x
3000mm. The idea was to
bring designing a toilet to a
whole new level.

FLUIDITY X CHAOS
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This subject introduces
you to concept development
as a seamless process of design
from the inception of a design
idea to the resolution of the
design process. It focuses on the
physical developmental evidences
of the design process as the
key to externalising conceptual
thinking and development..

Concept is based on
the chaos amidst the
fluidity of the bicycle
movement. Chaos in this
context is the display of
bicycles throughout the
space. It breaks the
fluidity of the
entire spaceand
evokes and sense of
danger which provokes
the customers into
paying attention to
the bicycles and
accessories.

INDUSTRIALPLAYHOUSE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This subject serves as a platform
to introduce you to design projects.
Exploratory and experimental
in nature, it encourages
you to develop varying perspectives
in design approaches and
processes, encompassing design
conceptualisation, visualisation
and expression of a set theme

Site is located at the
end of Temasek
Polytechnic, School
of Design. Situated
between the carpark and
the canteen, it is a space
much used by visitors
but no as much
by the
students.

CONCEPT:
The heirachy of this space is the great void in the
centre where people are greeted by a segmented space in the first level and trancends into a barrage of ass chairs
and dangling legs, compounded by a fake pool on the ceiling in the
given site. The quality of this space is apprehended by its own ability to draw people up to its final level

Level 3 is where the game

are. The idea was to create
an area whereby people
could gather and watch
movies in the school

ICE CREAM SKOOL
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Effective written and
oral communication play a
critical role in advancing
a design professional’s
career. Designers are
expected to be persuasive
in articulating their
design ideas in order to
secure design contracts
and employment. Hence,
this subject focuses
on the use of persuasion
in two broad areas of
professional communication for
designers: client relationship
and career self-promotion.

sketch of the Singapore
River from the Raffles
Place MRT exit. The idea
was to encompass the past,
present, and future in one
frame. That is why I decided
to sketch out this

ICE CREAM SKOOL
We decided to rebrand the
entire ice cream shop by
also including the
collaterals like logos,
display tags to things like
ice cream cups, tissue
boxes and ice cream
cone sleeve.31

The brief given to us was that
of a shop, designed with a
feel of a school, and also
the need to be flexible
in terms of table and
floor space.33

DETAIL DRAWINGS
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This subject equips you with the
knowledge and skills of developing
design proposals into sufficiently
prepared working drawings. It aims
to help you achieve competency
in building drawing techniques and
detailing, and provide a platform for
you to demonstrate competency in
specifying materials and scheduling
for contractual building work.
A compilation of development
drawings will form an appropriate
portfolio for job applications

FORM EXPLORATION
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This subject focuses
on the sculpting of the building
form and its implications on interior
space design. It addresses issues
pertaining to s patial concepts,
resolution of geometry and
form-function as vehicles for the
study of the built environment that
leads to the development of spatial
design vocabulary amongst students
38
CONCEPT:
The idea was to display
dymanism through a
dome-like-shape.
Dynamism will be shown
through the irregular forms
that wrap around the
‘invisible’ dome to create
a sense of enclosure
and drama
within.

PAPER AND INK
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This subject emphasises
drawing through observation,
using basic drawing media. It
provides experiences gained from
exploring and viewing the physical
environment and development
of the drawn image. The drawing
sessions will generally be based
on freehand drawing, placing
special demands on seeing/
perception (eyeballing), scale,
composition and perspective.
