On behalf of the Board of Directors of Menchville House, Inc. as well as its residents,
we would like to thank you for your generous donation of $162.25. Your donation will be used
to continue the services that we provide for residents at the transitional housing facility, which
serves homeless women and their children. Because fewer and fewer people are able to giveto causes such as Menchville House, your donation plays an essential role in helping us to fill
a critical void in our funding efforts. We also look forward to a continued partnership in thefuture. Once again, thank you for thinking of us. I pray that God will continue to bless you all
as abundantly as you have blessed us.
Sincerely,
Sylvia B. Jones
Executive Director
Thank you to all who have turned in their2013 pledge cards. Plans for the ministry of ourchurch for the coming year are based on these pledges.
If you have not turned in your pledge card and would like to commit to the work and outreach
of our church, please do so by putting it in the offering plate or giving it to the church office.
As of November 26 we have received 81 pledges totaling $215,592.
Each year on the Sunday before Christmas, Presbyterian congregations express pro-found appreciation for our clergy and other servants of the Church by receiving the ChristmasJoy Offering. We honor our church leaders both for their faithfulness in tending to our spiri-tual needs and in recognition of their decision, in many cases, to answer the call to ministryrather than pursue a life of material comfort.
The Christmas Joy Offering provides a way to give thanks, and much-needed support, toactive and retired church workers and their families who are struggling with urgent financialneeds. Its a wonderful opportunity for those who have been blessed with the means to ex-
press their generosity and, at the same time, support important needs in the PC(USA) commu-
nity.
A Presbyterian tradition for nearly 70 years, the Christmas Joy Offering gives vital fund-ing to the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions as well as to Presbyterian-related ra-cial-ethnic schools and colleges. It is one of the four special offerings designated by thePC(USA) General Assembly to provide congregations direct ways to support those in need.
The Christmas Joy Offering will be collected on Sunday, December 23.
Thank you for your donations to the Peacemaking Offering on October 7. We contributed25% of the offering ($162.25) to the Menchville House.

The 2012 Angel Board is located on a bulletinboard located in the Narthex area. There will betwo sets of tags--one that you will take and ful-fill returning the tag along with the wrapped giftand the second tag that you will leave on the

During the month of November, our Pre-K students learned about be-
ing thankful and sharing with those who are less fortunate. Our familiesdonated over 50 food items for DUCO and filled 16 shoeboxes to send toOperation Christmas Child. I hope that the valuable lessons we are teach-ing at a young age will lead to a lifetime of charitable giving and kindnesstowards others.
Now November has come and gone, and we are getting ready tocelebrate the Christmas holiday! Our annual Christmas chapel will be heldon December 12 and 13. The program will begin at 11:15 a.m. each day,so please join us if you can. The children have already been practicing
their songs and bell ringing, and they will be so excited to perform. Plus, they look so cute dressed up in their Christmas best.
In addition to Christmas chapel, December will be filled with specialcelebrations and events. Our four year old classes will be baking ginger-bread men. Watch out-the gingerbread man has been known to run away! The students always have fun searching for him. The three year olds willlearn about reindeer and have a special reindeer snack. All of the childrenwill be learning about the true meaning of Christmas.
All of the staff of DPPK would like to wish all of you a joyous and fun-filled holiday. Merry Christmas!
