Strawberry’s Travel Through The Digestive System By: Gray Ferrell and Paul Geary

• One day, Joey decided to eat a delicious strawberry.

• Joey’s sharp teeth chomped on the strawberry and the gooey saliva began to break down the strawberry.

• Then the bolus of strawberry traveled down the esophagus and into the stomach.

• As soon as the strawberry entered the stomach hydrochloric acid began to attack the strawberry.

• The hydrochloric acid broke down and weakened the strawberry, but the strawberry persevered and traveled into the small intestine.

• While traveling through the small intestine, the strawberry lost many nutrients and some water.

• The strawberry entered the large intestine, lost even more water, and was terribly weakened.

• Joey goes to the bathroom. The strawberry has gone through the rectum and entered the anus. The strawberry is completely broken down and out of Joey’s system. The strawberry is gone, but Joey feels great!
