DigipaksDigipaks are patented style of a CD or DVD packaging.
The purpose of a digipak is to entice a wider audience as it is a
“special” or a “limited” edition. Even though the majority of people
are downloading music online, digipaks tend to be popular as it is
an exclusive product for the consumers who will the actual CD.
The concept of each digipak is also unique and will only be
available for the consumers, rather than those who download
music online who will only get the music and album art.
Digipaks, nowadays, are creative which is popular for certain
types of audience. Since digipaks mostly have conceptual art
which has a wider audience, it is more enticing and attractive to
all type of audiences.

Band’s Fans Image
My Chemical RomanceThe Black Parade is Dead
The artist’s image is not included in the album, making the album based on
concept. However, an image of the band’s fans is included showing that the
band values their fans and their audience.
The font used in the album cover “My Chemical Romance” is best described as
scribbly and has a scratched effect to it. It represents the “emo” and rock genre
of the band connoting frustration which adheres to the fast paced beat and
rhythm of the genre.
The font used in the album song list is similar to that of 19th-20th century
America wanted posters. This connotes to the theme of rebellion and law
breaking, which is similar to some of the band’s songs and music video.
My Chemical RomanceThe Black Parade is Dead
The theme of rebellion and death is shown in the band’s music video, Welcome to
the Black Parade, similar to the themes and concepts included in the album.
The music video is all in black white, just like the band’s music video I Don’t Love
You which is also included in the album.

Band’s Image
The design revolves around a “galaxy” atmosphere because of the word “infinity”.
Fall out boyInfinity on high
The artist’s image shown in the album is very casual. The costumes they were
wearing on the disk tray does not reflect their genre at all as the colour schemes
of their costumes were very vibrant (white, black, vibrant red) which entices the
audience as Fall Out Boy always seem to dress elegantly, contrasting their
genre.
The font used in the album cover “Fall Out Boy” is best described as cursive and
elegant. This relates to the bands concept of the album “Infinity on High” as
they have taken inspiration from Van Gohg’s letter to his brother about his
arthaving a positive effect on his health “Be clearly aware of the stars and
infinity on high. Then life seems almost enchanted after all.”
The cover features a winged sheep in a bedroom with the moon and stars in the
background which means that there is no limit in one’s imagination.
Fall out boyInfinity on high
For example, in this music
video that featured Fall Out
Boy’s “Thnks fr the Mmrs”
which is featured in the
album “Infinity on High”, the
concept of the video is about
the mockery on company
production studios and how
power always gets the “girl”.
This reflects the band’s
album concept because the
concept explores something a
music video would not
normally address.

The artist’s image is not shown in the album at all and is full of concept art. The
reason behind this is because the vocalist wanted the album to follow the story
of Jesus of Suburbia, an anti-hero image Armstrong (vocalist) created himself.
The font used in the album cover “Green Day” is best described grungy and has
a street connotation to it, as the name “Green Day” suggests (slang for “smoking
pot”). The album cover and conceptual art included on the album is a heart-
shaped grenade, exploring the themes of violence, rage vs love, and the
struggles of this character that Armstrong created.

This music video “Wake Me
Up When September Ends”
centres on this couple,
however, the male
protagonist enlists on the
army and the love interest
is left heart broken.
This relates to the album
cover as the grenade
connotes war and violence
whilst the heart-shaped
grenade presents the love
interests desperation and
heart being broken.
