Digipak Analysis - Foster The People - Torches
Saeed Moulai
Simplistic design, very typical of the Indie Pop genre
Simple font, with a bold black title to make it clear
Plain white background, puts the attention on the name of the band and a cool graphic
The cool graphic is a trademark of Foster The People, it links in with star image and portrays synergy across the products
There are three main colours that are used, white as a primary colour, orange as a secondary colour and black as a tertiary colour
Simple yet effective CD design which catches attention due to the bright colours used, and then it clearly shows the name of the band in a bold white font
The production company, label and barcode are all in a clear black font at the bottom of the back of the digipak, whilst the song list is in a distinctive orange font
The graphic also fits the colour scheme of black white and orange
There is a link between words and visuals (Goodwin’s theory) because the album is called Torches and there are pictures of torches on the cover
