?Where are thedocuments I need? Who is going to work together with
me? How to get to know when others cando their part of the job? I don’t
get hold of the one I need, when I need their input. Our travel
expences are too high and aredamaging our environmental profile. We want
a solution that’suser friendly, integrated, flexible and doesn’t demand high
investments in time nor money.
But what’s in it for me… (the customer…)

Two examples of how to go about it in real life

The insurance company TrygVesta focused on
the need for further growth as their main goal
for investing in collaboration tools. Their
argumentation has been very much about the
environmental aspects.
The estimate a cost reduction of 20 mill NOK(
about 2 mill£) and a reduction of 550 ton Co2
into the atmosphere.
Statoil Hydro has focused somewhat differently
and had their main goal set up to enable their
competence better and by that get more value
of their resources. Statoil Hydro define their
collaborative activities as ”integrated
operations” as a new approach to solve their
challenges where they have staff in a lot of
locations on shore – and offshore
An innovative approach to digital collaboration is to attach only elements needed for the tasks at hand
No more – No less !
• This requires internet based technologies that will function
directly in a browser
• No limitations in simultaneous participants
• Including instant messenging (IM), presence
management and wide application sharing options
• Integrated video/web conferencing up to full HD quality
• Integrated IP based audio(VOIP)
Slide 12

It’s now commonly understood that creativity is
not the product of one brilliant mind, but most
creative ideas come from people blending
and mixing things”.

3 Integrating Digital collaboration solutions and social media (Web 2.0) you achieve an optimal situation
where your company and the market is so woven together that you might not be to sure about who
invented what, The market or you?
1 Digital collaboration tools fitted to meet internal challenges is an
improvement from the situation today
2 Digital collaboration tools that involve the organization with
partners and customers is an even better idea.
By opening up toward the surrounding world,
the “harvests” of ideas can be multiplied to
new levels. The possibilities for innovations and
to support the market with products and
services in demand is radically increased.
