VERONIKA METANOVAMetanova achored the Falcons defense on Saturday with seven saves and seven ground balls. She made

four saves in the second half and had a stop with 2:15 to play that helped sealed the victory.

The Falcons won their season open-er for the fourth-consecutive season after defeating Augsburg, 9-8, on Saturday.

The Falcons scored the final three goal on Saturday againt Augs-burg to overcome a two-goal deficit in their season-opening victory.

Freshman Lauren Paquin had an impressive start to her career, net-ting a trio of goals against Augs-burg. She had two goals in just over

two minutes to begin the second half.

The Falcons own a 2-0 record against Illinois Institute of Technolo-gy over the past two years. CUW has out-

scored the Scarlet Hawks 39-14, which in-cludes a 21-7 victory last season on April 23 in Chicago. During the win, they led 13-5 at halftime and had just five assists on 21 goals scored. As well, the Falcons outshot the Scarlet Hawks 49-16 and four players had at least three goals.
