TORBAY ROYAL REGATTA21-23 August, Royal Torbay YC, Torquay, Devon OVERVIEW: Racing for IRC and Cruiser Classes, Sportsboats, PY Dinghies and Junior Classes over two days, on some of the finest sailing waters in the UK. The Spinlock IRC South West Championships will return to Torbay as part of the regatta. Ladies will be specially recognised with prizes in all classes and the prestigious Addison Gold Cup for the highest-placed IRC boat with a predominately female crew.

FINDHORN REGATTA & FINDHORN WEEKRegatta Weekend, 18-19 July; Findhorn Week, 20-24 July, Royal Findhorn YC, Findhorn, Moray OVERVIEW: Findhorn Regatta Weekend welcomes sailors of all abilities from five to 80 years of age, with a range of boats from Optimists to Musto Skiffs and 49ers, and everything in between, offering a unique blend of racing in a picture-postcard setting. The racecourse for the faster boats and more experienced sailors is on the open sea of the Moray Firth, with a second course for the slower boats and less confident sailors in the confines of the large bay. OVERVIEW: In surely the UK’s most stunning offshore racing, the St. Kilda challenge includes three fleets, two races and one cruise to the stunning dual UNESCO world heritage site of St Kilda. WEST HIGHLAND YACHTING WEEK1-7 August, Royal Highland YC & Oban SC, with regatta moving between Craobh Haven, Oban and Tobermory OVERVIEW: Stunning surroundings with a winning combination of round-the-buoys and passage racing, supported by an excellent social programme. In addition to spinnaker classes, restricted sail classes are offered, which attract skippers with limited experience, crew or equipment. While these classes also suit the yachts with small children aboard, some of the most competitive crew members are the children themselves! Many competitors are infrequent racers, often first-timers – the committee is always delighted to encourage those dipping a toe into racing waters for the first time.

MENAI STRAIT REGATTAS3-15 August, Menai Strait, Beaumaris to CaernarfonOVERVIEW: Raced over a fortnight on the Menai Strait, a narrow stretch of water separating Anglesey from mainland North Wales. The majority of the boats racing are classic boats, such as the Fife OD, Mersey Mylne OD and Conway OD. Cruisers and dinghies are also welcome, racing in handicap fleets. The event is largely based at Beaumaris towards the northern end of the Strait, but other venues are included right to Caernarfon towards the southern end.
