Axel Technology’s goal is to provide broadcasters with a complete “plug and play” solution ready to go On Air with the same quality of national broadcasters. The Turnkey TV MCR has been design to deliver the best video quality and provide full functionality at the lowest budget, according to the following fundamental point:

FURNITURE
The furniture size is 275x100 cm that allows 2/3 operators (technician, speaker and guest) to work together. It includes the 19 units 19” rack to fit all the necessary rackmount equipment, cable tray and mechanical accessories. This allows the assembling and the test of the system at Axel Technology labs, to deliver a 100% working solution that can be easily installed in less than 4 hours following the attached instructions.

TV AUTOMATION – PLAYOUT & CAPTURE
All in one: XTV workstation manages simultaneous PLAYOUT and CAPTURE in SD/HD format.
Media Compatibility and multiformat benefits: XTV plays any kind of media in any resolution: DV, HDV, MPEG-‐2, DVD, DIVX, MPEG-‐4, M-‐JPEG, MPEG-‐1, H.264, QuickTime, MXF, etc. This allows adopting and mixing any media format according to the production workflow and the pros and cons of each codec. For example:
-‐ News, field produced in DV and edited in native format -‐ NLE productions with Premiere, Final Cut, Avid, Edius, Liquid, VT, etc. -‐ No conversion is needed allowing fast export times -‐ Movies and fiction on DVD and played out from VOB files -‐ Live satellite or studio feeds captured in DIVX high quality or traditional MPEG2 IBP -‐ Spot commercials and promos received on CDs or via internet in various formats
For these reasons the TV Automation must be able to playout all the most popular video file format, coming from any source, to make workflow from capture to playout seamless and direct. The Playout also controls external devices such as VTRs, routing switchers, cart machines and GPIs, allowing the playlist to switch from file to other sources (live feeds, production studios). STORAGE
The 6TB storage is installed on the Playout computer in mirror configuration (3TB + 3TB) with automatic copy from one disk to the other, to save the archive in case of fault. All data is stored on Hard Disks, which are the real loose link of the system, being the only mechanical elements. We choose Seagate Constellation series that provides reliability to performance. This disk is certified for 24/7 operations and Axel has been delivering this model and its predecessors for many years, with very good statistical reliability. Media is compressed video format, up to 100 Mb/s, allowing simultaneous capture, playout and editing, The storage can be shared on the network to import and playout files form NLEs
LOGO GENERATOR & GRAPHICS
Graphics are an essential added value to the video content. Graphics are day after day more important to increase the appeal of programs and deliver extra information. DLG PLUS is the ultimate solution for high quality logo generation and for automatic management graphics. Ideal to automatically put on air graphical contents for music TV (titles, authors, etc.), news programmes (tickers, clock, etc...). The CG engine overlays logo, texts, clock, crawls, rolls, images and SWF with dynamic text.
-‐ Integration with playlist: on air graphics can be controlled by the playout, according to the playlist. -‐ Dynamic text: metatdatas for text, ticker and crawl and roll can be dynamically passed by the automation (such as,

FALCON THREE TV SDI is a 3-‐Band digital TV audio processor with Loudness control and equalization to provide an always pleasing and clear audio. Designed for TV (DVB-‐T and DVB-‐S and Web broadcasting). TV audio processor automatically controls the average modulation, the peak-‐to-‐average ratio and the transitions between programs and commercial avoiding unpleasant jumps of level. The Automatic Gain Control intervention always respect the original audio levels by avoiding over modulation peaks The FALCON THREE TV SDI allows an effective automatic loudness control under ITU-‐R BS1770 specification. Logging is a mandatory requirement for several purposes:

DML records A/V contents coming from the widest variety of sources (SDI, CV, RF Antenna, SAT, etc) and stores them on Hard Disk (recordings are available on line depending on hard disks capacity, usually: 30/60/90 days as stated by the law). DML supports a large variety of video formats, compressions and resolutions, can record at high or low quality and it doesn’t need ordinary maintenance since the new ones automatically overwrite the oldest recordings. Date and time are superimposed onto video signal or embedded into the A/V data stream. The recorded signal can be simultaneously streamed to Internet for maintenance and surveillance purposes. Content is accessible from any networked computer, never stopping the recording. Using the free DML Player software, content can be easily selected, converted and exported. DML files are standard Windows multimedia files, which can also be played on any ordinary multimedia player. System alarms may be notified via email or SMS.
