Packing
¤ Telecommunications equipment is comprised of thousands of chips, circuit boards, interfaces, adapters and a myriad of sensitive components.
¤ It is imperative that modules, chassis, adapters and interfaces be packed to endure the vagaries of transport.
¤ Domestic and International shipping can cause undue stress and damage to the contents if not properly packed.

¤ Depending on the size of the shipment, one has to consider whether to use Individual Express shipping or freight by palletizing a shipment.
¤ By palletizing a shipment, a shipper can reduce the event of lost boxes.
¤ Palletizing a shipment can reduce the wear and tear of the individual boxes due to less movement and rough handling.
¤ This does not mitigate however fork lift damage and double stacking issues.

¤ If you do not have the proper tools to palletize, then individual parcel shipping may be your only solution.
¤ When you create the shipping manifest documents, make sure that you chose a “multiple package option”
¤ Although you will need a separate shipping label for each box, they will be labeled 1 of 1, 1 of 2, 1 of 3, etc. This will help reduce the event of a partial delivery or lost parcel.
¤ Affix your own labeling on 8x11 labels to each package with the destination address and a note that is “1” of a larger shipment.
¤ For customs issue attach copies of the commercial invoice to each package, in case the master box gets lost. This will reduce customs clearance times.
