Diploma of Agribusiness Management (AHC51410) ABOUT THE COURSE The Diploma of Agribusiness Management is a nationally recognised, flexible delivery study program for those wishing to pursue a career in the agribusiness sector as well as individuals already engaged in their own primary production enterprises. Course delivery is through supported distance education backed up where appropriate by practical group workshops. This allows for participants to work at their own pace making the program ideal for those wishing to combine study with existing employment. WHAT ARE THE CAREER OUTCOMES? ABOUT THE COURSE The Diploma of Agribusiness Management is a nationally recognised, flexible delivery study program for those wishing to pursue a career in the agribusiness sector as well as individuals already engaged in their own primary production enterprises. WHAT DO I STUDY? The course comprises a number of units of competency from the nationally accredited Rural Production Training Package (AHC10). Units are delivered under topic areas such as:

• Agribusiness financial management

• Whole farm planning

• Human resource management

• Risk management

HOW IS THE COURSE DELIVERED? The Diploma of Agribusiness Management is a flexible study program that combines distance education with a range of optional workshops. Each unit package includes readers, assignments and study schedules. Most students choose to undertake their study part-time over 2 years to fit in with employment and other activities, however full time study is also possible.

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS? This course is open to people who meet one of the following minimum criteria:

• A pass in the Victoria Certificate of Education (VCE) or equivalent interstate qualification;

• Completion of a TAFE Certificate III in Agriculture or above; or

• Mature age entry (at least 21 years of age) and demonstrated aptitude for the course.

CAN I GET RECOGNITION FOR PREVIOUS STUDY/EXPERIENCE? You are able to gain recognition of skills and knowledge obtained through formal training, work experience and/or life experience. If you believe you are able to demonstrate the required level of competence in a unit you can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) by contacting the Administrative Officer. Where you have already successfully completed the same unit of competency, you are able to apply for Credit Transfer (CT) for that unit. No fees apply for CT.

WHEN DO I START? The flexible delivery program can be started at any time during the year.
