in 2006, he’s recorded 86 points on 63 goals and 23 assists.

HE’S STREAKY TOO—Vermont transfer JAMIE KIRK is in hot pursuit of Veltman’s scoring streak. Dating back to his final game as a Catamount in 2006, Kirk has scored at least one point in 24 consecutive games. Since UMBC shut him out, he’s re-corded 80 points on 22 goals and 58 assists.

NATIONAL NUMBERS—Hobart began the week ranked among the nation’s best in several categories. The Statesmen were ninth in man-down defense (.792), 11th in scoring margin (+2.89), 12th in scoring offense (10.67), 19th in faceoff win-ning percentage (.531), and 20th in scoring defense (7.78).

LEADER OF THE PACK—DARYL VELTMAN leads the ECAC in goals per game (3.0) and points per game (4.33). Although he does not meet the NCAA par-ticipation requirement (min. 75% of team’s games played), Veltman’s averages would place him in the top five in the nation.

BALL HOG—Senior faceoff specialist DAN SpINELLA is one of the top X men in the nation. He began the week sixth in the nation in ground balls per game (5.38) and 21st in faceoff winning percentage (.556). As a sophomore, Spinella ranked fourth in the nation in faceoff winning percentage (.618).

CLEAR DIFFERENCE—In Hobart’s five wins this season, the Statesmen are clearing 81.0 percent of the time, while the opposition is successful just 61.0 percent of the time. On the flip side, Hobart’s clearing rate drops to 73.1 percent, while the opposition improves to 74.1 percent.

HOBART HELPER—Attackman JAMIE KIRK is 13th in the nation in assists per game (1.89). He is third on Hobart’s Division I career assists list, sporting a 23-game total of 55.
