Whereas, 33 private hospitals were directed to reserve 80% of their total ICU/HDU
beds for treatment of CoVID-19 patients vide Order No. PA/SS-II/COVID-
19/HFW/2020/CD#112600539/90-96 dated 12.09.2020 issued by Department of Health &
Family Welfare, GNCTD.
Whereas, 42 private hospitals were directed to reserve 80% of their total ICU/HDU
beds for treatment of COVID-19 patients vide Order No. F.23/Misc./COVID-
19/DGHS/NHC/2020/Pt.XIX/8770-8778 dated 19.11.2020 issued by Directorate General of Health Services, GNCTD.
Whereas, one private hospital namely, Tirath Ram Shah Charitable Hospital, Civil
Lines was inadvertently included in the lists annexed to both the aforementioned orders.
Whereas, Order No. PA/Ss-I1/COVID-19/HFW/2020/ CD#112600539/ secyhealth2/1-8 dated 26.12.2020 superseded earlier order of even number dated 12.09.2020
and COVID ICU beds in the concerned 33 private hospitals were de-escalated from existing
80% to 60%o, freeing up 20% COVIDICU beds for non-COVID patients.
Whereas, it was decided that the matter of de-escalation of COVID ICU beds shall be
reviewed by the competent authority on 05.01.2021.
Whereas, a review meeting was held by the competent authority on 05.01.2021
wherein the data with respect to pattern of COVID ICU bed occupancy on 05.01.2021 in 41
private hospitals & 33 private hospitals listed in Orders dated 19.11.2020&12.09.2020,
respectively.
Whereas, it was decided in the said review meeting to de-escalate COVID ICU beds
from existing 80% to 40% or at least twice the number of ocupancy of COVID ICU beds as
on 05.01.2021, whichever is higher in the 41 private hospitals listed in Order No.
F.23/Misc./COVID-19/DGHS/NHC/2020/Pt.XIX/8770-8778 dated 19.11.2020.
Whereas, it was also decided in the said review meeting to de-escalate cOVID ICU beds from existing 60% to 40% or at least twice the number of occupaney of COVID ICU
beds as on 05.01.2021, whichever is higher in the 28 part COVID private hospitals listed in
Order No. PA/SS-11/COVID-19/HFW/2020/CD/112600539/secyhealth2/1-8 dated 26.12.2020.

Whereas, it was further decided in the said review meeting to convert 4 fully COVID
private hospitals namely, Fortis Super Speciality Hospital, Vasant Kunj; Saroj
Super Speciality Hospital, Rohini; Maha Durga Charitable Trust Hospital, Model Town& Sir
Ganga Ram City Hospital, Pusa Road to part COVID hospital. The aforementioned 4 private
hospitals shall reserve 30% of their total bed capacity for the treatment of COVID patients.
Furthermore, the aforementioned four hospitals shall reserve 40% of their total ICU beds or
at least twice the number of occupancy of COVID ICU beds as on 05.01.2021, whichever is
dedicate
higher for treatment of COVID patients
Whereas, it was also decided the status of Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital,
Saket as a fully COVID dedicated hospital shall remain unchanged.
Therefore, the revised COVID ICU bed strength in 73 private hospitals would be as
mentioned in Annexure 'A' with immediate effect. However, these 73 hospitals shall have an
option to increase the COVID ICU beds reserved above the minimum limit prescribed if
they so desire.
This issues with the approval of Hon'ble Minister (Health).
