Dear Sir/Madam,
Please refer to subject cited above;
In this context it is submitted that the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi has entrusted the
responsibility of organizing the All India Inter University Softball (Women) Championship to Punjabi
University, Patiala for the session 2019-20. Accordingly Punjabi University, Patiala will be organizing this
championship at Akal College of Physical Education, Mastuana Sahib, Distt. Sangrur, Punjab affiliated to
Punjabi University, Patiala from 4th
to 7th
March, 2020.
On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor & Staff of Directorate of Sports, Punjabi University Patiala,
Management & Staff of Akal College of Physical Education, Mastuana Sahib, I extend a cordial welcome
to your teams to participate in this Championship.
GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE CHAMPIONSHIP(S) ARE AS UNDER:-
1. Venue of the competition is Akal College of Physical Education, Mastuana Sahib (Distt. Sangrur)
2. All the teams should report at venue one day prior to the commencement of the championship.
3. The Akal College of Physical Education, Mastuana Sahib (Distt. Sangrur) is situated about 172 Km.
from Ambala Cantt. Trains from Ambala Cantt to Bathinda also pass through Sangrur Railway
Station. Either you can avail the Bus/Taxi service from Ambala Cantt/Rajpura or Patiala as well as.
For further information regarding arrival at venue the Coach/Manager may contact our officials:
Ms. Rachna Devi (8147-72027) and Renu Bala (88721-05767).
4. Only unfurnished lodging facility shall be provided. Accommodation will be available one day
before the start of the championship only. Please do not send your team in advance.
5. Participating team are requested to bring their own locks with keys & beddings necessary bedding
etc. as per the climatic conditions during the period of championship.
6. All the players are required to bring their Identity Cards of the current session duly signed by the
Director Sports of the concerned University.
7. A Meeting of all the Managers and Coaches of the teams will be held on one day prior to the
commencement of championship by 3-00 p.m. at venue/college campus. Managers and coaches
are requested to attend this meeting, where all the necessary instructions will be given.
8. Managers are requested to submit quadruplicate (04) copies of the Eligibility Proforma of the
players to the undersigned in the Manager’s Meeting. Incomplete Proforma will not be
entertained. No over-writing is permitted on the proforma unless attested by the competent
authority. Eligibility Proforma of the teams will be collected at the time of the meeting only.

9. The participating Universities should submit attested photocopies (duly attested by the competent
authority) of D.M.C. of 10+2 class passed, Date of Birth mentioning certificate, last class passed
certificate and graduation certificate (if the player is studying in P.G. Course) without this the
players will not be allowed to participate in these competitions.
10. The Manager of the team will have to deposit a sum of Rs.500/- per ball per match, to be
provided by Directorate of Sports, Punjabi University, Patiala.
11. Officiating/Umpiring Charges shall be charged Rs.2000/- per team as per rules of AIU.
12. The Managers of the team will have to deposit a sum of Rs.2000/- per team with the Cashier of
the department as a Security towards accommodation facilities.
13. Participating teams will bring their own University Flags in order to take part in the march past. All
the participating teams will have to take part in the march past. Which teams/players fails to take
part in the march past, will not be allowed to participate in any event/match. This may kindly be
ensured by the Director Sports, Coach & Manager of the participating teams.
14. Team Managers/Coaches will be fully responsible for their players to maintain discipline during
competitions & stay.
15. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to make any change in the programme. The decision
of the committee shall be final and binding.
16. All events of the above said championship(s) will be conducted according to the rules of
MYAS/AIU.
