The opportunity for the Ramjet Filter technology is its total solution to replace established, self-cleaning or back-flushing filters that find low-pressure water systems to be problematic during their self-cleaning cycle. Engineering innovative energy efficient water purification. Trevi Systems is a forward osmosis desalination company focusing on low energy water purification from saltwater, brackish water and industrial waste-water.

We have designed a forward osmosis system using a proprietary membrane and a unique draw solution (RTS-2300) that allows the draw solute to be separated from the recovered water using thermal heat rather than high pressure pumps.

The process has the ability to desalinate ocean water at 1/8th the electrical energy of current RO systems. The Trevi FO system uses ‘waste heat’ or low grade thermal heat at 75 0C to drive the FO desalination process. Trevi System’s heat requirements are approximately 50MJ/ m3.

Since the energy consumption is so low, the brine stream generated may be concentrated to either very low or very high recovery rates without a noticeable change in electrical energy consumption, allowing the system to be tailored to the requirements of the environment.

THERMOWATT Ltd was established specifically for energy utilization of waste-heat and started researches and system-design in this field in 2009. It developed a technological solution to utilize energy resided in wastewater to cool and/or heat buildings in a modern, environmental friendly and economical way.

Using this international innovation-award winner (2013, WEX Global), heat-pump based technology heat is recovered from a hidden and rarely used energy source, from wastewater.
