The Catholic Multicultural Office is an agency of the Archdiocese of Adelaide. The Office has a team of people responsible for the coordination and support of pastoral services for migrant and refugee communities within the Archdiocese. The Catholic Multicultural Office coordinates the celebration of the Annual Migrant and Refugee Sunday (last Sunday of August) and other multicultural events on behalf of the Archdiocese. As one family in faith, the Catholic Church is enriched by the cultural diversity of its members. The future of its mission in Australia is strongly linked with the vision of a community where linguistic, cultural, ethnic and racial differences are seen as enriching and beneficial to the life of the Church and the whole community at large. Within the Archdiocese of Adelaide, migrant communities contribute liturgical and devotional traditions to our prayer as people of God. By opening ourselves to the richness of our diversity, we strengthen our praise of God and our gratitude for the many gifts with which we have been blessed as a family. The `Directory of Migrant Chaplaincies and Multicultural Catholic Communities in the Archdiocese of Adelaide’ is produced primarily as a resource for Parishes and Catholic Communities in the Archdiocese, Church agencies and Pastoral Workers, in their ministry. The communities listed in the Directory are communities that either have their own Chaplains or have specific Pastoral Councils or Committees which coordinate the pastoral needs of their particular community. The Catholic community of the Archdiocese of Adelaide is much more diverse in membership than is portrayed in this Directory. The Directory is a working document and the listed information may change at any time. I hope you will find the material helpful and informative. Sr. Nien Tran RSM ;OAM Manager January 2020
