Re-engagement

#Lifegoals CAREERS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN CONJUCTION WITH BRIGHTER FUTURES Re-engagement programme for 15 – 24 year olds who are currently not in employment, Education or Training. The programme is tailor made for each young person with support to enable them to enter employment or training opportunities.

NEET course: The courses involve a wide range of practical based activities including employability, independence skills, sporting activities and

where appropriate work experience and volunteering opportunities. Courses are run by the Brighter Futures Team at the Orford Youth Base. 1 day

a week for 12 weeks or 2 Days a week for 14 weeks. Courses start at various times throughout the year and for more information contact Careers

Young Parent’s programme. The young people need to be aged 17 and above with the programme running over 18 weeks one session a

week at either the Sandy Lane Children’s Centre or the Sunshine Children’s Centre covering a wide range of practical activities including messy play, caring for your baby, independent skills and where appropriate work experience and volunteering opportunities. INTERSERVE #Lifegoals. The young people need to be aged between 15 to 24 and NEET. The programmes are tailor made to the needs of the individual learner

and as a result course length will depend on the learner and their required needs and are based in Bank Quay House. The programme involves variety of practical activities taught in small groups with areas covered including employability, group work skills and health and well-being. REMPLOY

#Lifegoals. The Lifegoals project is aimed at young people aged 15 to 24 who have a health condition or disability to gain the skills needed to secure

employment or find a training opportunity. Learners are offered a 4 week work placement and achieve a BTEC Certificate in Work Skills. Courses start throughout the year and are based at Remploy on Mersey Street, for further information contact Remploy on 0300 456 8060

New Leaf Mentoring Programme WARRINGTON & CO IN CONJUNCTION WITH GOLDEN GATES HOUSING The programme is aimed at young people aged 16+ all age with mental health issues/anxiety or have that have been away from the job market for long periods of time. The young people on the course will be offered a mentor to begin with and the Mentor will work with them to link the young people into work experience placements, Apprenticeships or voluntary work. All of the young people when they are ready to with be provided with employability skills including the development of a CV and interview preparation. THE CHILDREN’S SOCIETY Working with young people aged 16 and above (15 if they are at risk of becoming NEET - not in education, employment or training). The mentoring and support service aims to boost the employment prospects of those affected by substance misuse, encouraging them to achieve their goals by accessing further education and training, volunteering opportunities or suitable work. All of the young people have their own mentor to help them to build positive relationships, focusing on an individual’s needs and strengths.

Be Inspired CAREERS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE in conjunction with Brighter Futures The programme is aimed at 15 to 24 year olds to support and inspire young people into education and training. The young people on the programme will be provided with one to one support and in some cases group work sessions to help them to develop and improve their employability skills and prepare them for next steps in Education, an Apprenticeship or a Traineeship. WARRINGTON & VALE ROYAL COLLEGE Vocational Pathways: Re-engagement provision for 16-21 year olds. Qualifications include; Maths/English/ICT to increase basic skills, BTEC qualification in PSD, with links into areas including Hair & Beauty, Catering, ICT, Construction, Health and Social Care and Motor Vehicle. Learners would ideally start the courses from September to January to be able to achieve the full qualifications. Work Choice The Work Choice programme is aimed at young people aged 18 years+, with a disability/ health condition, who want to work minimum 16 hours per week. MORTHYNG 13 to 38 week full-time study programme for 16 to 18 year olds. Learners will attend 3 days a week with average days being from 9.30 to 3pm. All students will get a £20 Bursary based on attendance and performance, there will also be additional bursary under means tested. BT- WORK READY 3 week work placements for 16-24 year olds NEETs to work alongside BT people in one of their departments. You’ll learn skills that’ll help you get a job and experience what it’s like in a real workplace. At the end of the work placement BT will then work with the young people to support them with applying for work and training opportunities. Traineeships and other programmes

TOTAL PEOPLE Traineeship/Pathways To Apprenticeships Pathways to Apprenticeships is a training programme designed to help prepare young people for an apprenticeship who are not working and might have very little experience. The programme covers a wide range of job areas covered include Childcare and Business. SUPPORTED INTERNSHIP A supported internship is a programme of work study for any learner with a Special Education Needs statement. The intern has to do 3 days per week in the workplace and will be back at Woolston Sixth Form or the college that they attend doing functional skills and programmes of study for a minimum of one day per week. The placement itself can last for anywhere between 6-12 months (minimum of 350 contact hours) and provides key training, work skills and experience that our learners struggle to find in the community.

BODY FOCUS TRAINING Traineeship in Personal Training aimed at young people aged 16 to 24. The Traineeship offers young people with an interest in fitness the opportunity to work towards a level 2 certificate in Fitness Instruction with progression onto an Apprenticeship in Personal Training at level 3. The programme combines classroom learning with 12 week placement within a gym within Warrington. Learners are entitled to a bursary which covers travel costs and lunch.
