VOGA VisionWe envision a vibrant community of prosperous, local farms that

sustain the land and provide healthy agricultural products.

Mission StatementThe mission of Valley Organic Growers Association

is to promote local sustainable agriculture by supporting and educating producers and consumers.

Our Guiding Principles are to:Create and support viable local agriculture.

Maintain and improve the health of our soil, air and water.Ensure the production of nutritious food, free from synthetic inputs.

Listing members include certified producers as well as others that employ a range of practices that are not certified. It is incumbent upon the

consumer to ask the grower about the practices they use.

VOGA HistoryVOGA was founded in 1992 in the beautiful North Fork Valley of the Gunnison River. We have the largest concentration of organic/sustain-able growers in the state. VOGA was formed to support growers, educate consumers, and promote the benefits of sustainable agriculture that provide fresh, regionally unique products. Our membership has grown to include small and mid-size growers, ranchers, retailers, and individuals who share our vision. In 2010, VOGA formed a non-profit arm, Valley Organic Growers Educational Alliance (VOGEA), to help underwrite the educa-tional portion of our mission.

VOGA and VOGEA offer several educational opportunities for producers and the general public. Working with the Learning Council, VOGA orga-nizes several agricultural workshops that provide hands-on experiences for novice and experienced producers. The Know Your Farmer program allows the general public to become acquainted with local producers, orchardists and ranchers.

Please visit us at vogaco.org to sign up for our email newsletter, join VOGA, or make a tax-free donation to VOGEA. You can also find us on Facebook. Directory listings are for informational purposes only. Please contact mem-bers for the most current information.
