What’s a Crime Report?

A Crime Report enables police to:• receive a report of an incident online, direct into a

single Reporting Centre;• copy-&-paste into back-office systems *• comply with Home Office ‘Counting Rules’ and

National Crime Recording Standard:• record the report without delay;• assess whether the report relates to

a ‘notifiable crime’;• assess availability and quality

of evidence, including CCTV images and footage;

• get in touch with relevant witnesses quickly and easily.

* or via integrated XML data-feed

What’s a Witness Statement?

DISC’s Users can add their own Witness Statement to their Crime Report;• A Witness Statement (MG11) is a

formal document that can be used in court as part of a prosecution;

• It is generated direct from the User’s Crime Report;

• Users are required to certify the truth of their Witness Statement before submitting it via DISC;

• The Witness Statement is associated with Witness Contact Details in compliance with Home Office requirements
