General Ernst & Young has put together this checklist as a useful aid to support all users of the generallyacceptedaccountingprinciplesinSwitzerland,i.e.,theSwissAccountingand ReportingRecommendations(SwissGAAPFER).ThechecklistcomprisesquestionstoverifythecompletenessofdisclosuresmadeinseparateandconsolidatedfinancialstatementspreparedinaccordancewithSwissGAAPFER.ItcoversallofthedisclosurerequirementsoftheAccountingandReportingRecommendations2010/11,includingtherecommendations on accounting for real estate insurers and health insurers which were enactedasof1January2012.

ThischecklistdoesnotdealwithanyoftheotherprovisionsofSwissGAAPFER,suchas accountingprinciples,termsanddefinitions.Formoreinformationontheseaspects, pleaserefertotheSwissGAAPFERBrochure2010/11.

Application

Thischecklisthasamodularstructure.Itstartswiththerecommendationsthatare applicabletoallusers,regardlessofcompanysize(coreFERandrecommendationsonconsolidatedfinancialstatements).Thechecklistthendealswiththerecommendations onindividualitemsofthefinancialstatementsforusersapplyingSwissGAAPFERinitsentirety.Attheenditaddressesspecialissuessuchasinterimreportingandaccountingforcharitableorganizations,pensionplansorrealestateandhealthinsurers.Thecheck-listshouldbecompletedbyanswering“yes”,“no”or“n/a”toeachofthequestions.Iftheoption “no” is selected, the departure from/breach of the disclosure requirements should beexplainedinthecommentssection.
