Discover the Difference.Extended cruising or even living aboard, the Hunter 420 is designed to provide thecomfort and livability you desire in a manageable and affordable package.
The time-tested B & R rig tames the power in the mainsail where it is easier tohandle. The smaller jib is almost self-tacking and with the arch keeping themainsheet overhead and out of the way, your cockpit is clear and safe. All lines areled aft to assist in short handed sailing and the optional in-mast furling systemreally makes it simple. The deck plan is laid out with safety in mind. Clear widedecks and multiple handholds ensure your ability to move around whennecessary. A standard anchor windlass is recessed below deck to avoid thosetoe-stubbings in the middle of the night and the step down transom makesclimbing on board the tender a breeze.
Below, you’ll find warm teak that has received a fine custom finish on allfurniture and bulkheads. Hardware has been upgraded and chosen forquality and durability. New genuine Corian® countertops cover the galleyand heads, while elegant fabrics adorn the settees and spreads. You’llfind a guest suite forward complete with inner spring mattress andprivate head with shower. Aft, the master is enormous with a queeninner spring mattress and more than ample storage and hanginglockers. The salon can be an elegant setting for two or can entertainthe entire crew.
While many center cockpit yachts trade performance with comfort,Hunter has found the equilibrium and delivers both in a worldclass boat. Come aboard and Discover the Differencefor yourself.

Genuine Corian® CountertopsGenuine Corian® countertops are
utilized throughout the entireHunter keelboat line. This
durable, yet beautiful materialwill hold its serviceability and
luster for years to come.
4
Heavy Duty RubrailsA new high-densityvinyl rubrail is now
being wrapped 360 degreesaround the boats for added
protection. A standardstainless steel insert also
enhances the protection aswell as the beauty.
5
Hunter Kevlar® TechnologyHunter adds the extra strength, but not the
weight where you need it most. From the stem tothe keel sump, Hunter has added a Kevlar®
laminate to give you added protection againstcollisions. This is the most likely area for
damage or penetration and Hunterprovides an extra level of security.
6
Stainless Steel ArchesWhen Hunter first introduced the arch a
few years ago, the skeptics were allagainst it. Today, many of those are now
offering arches of their own. There isno question – the arch is a real asset.
By placing the traveler up top, it keeps thecockpit clear and safe. As an attachment
point for a bimini, it makes a cleaninstallation. The arch is also perfect for
stereo speakers and cockpit lights.

B&R RigsAgain, another Hunter innovation that has now been time-proven to be oneof the strongest and easiest to sail rigs ever designed. By incorporatingsweptback spreaders and a pre-bend in the mast, the need for a backstayhas been eliminated. This allows for a fuller roach main that provides morepower in an easy to tame mainsail. With the big main, the jib can be smallerand easier to handle as well. Power without perspiration!
Antimonious Lead KeelsAt Hunter Marine only real hardened leadkeels are attached with stainless steelkeelbolts. This is obviously more expensivethan iron keels and mild steel bolts, but when it comes to performance, safety and maintenance, it’s the only way to go.
Through-Bolted Hull to Deck JointsSuperb strength and integrity are achievedwith a through-bolted hull to deck joint. Theoutward turned flanges of the deck and hull arefirst shaped for an exact fit. Then, 3M 5200sealant is evenly spread onto the joint prior tothe lowering of the deck. The joint is thenclamped together and through-bolted around theentire deck. An extra shot of epoxy is also laiddown at the chainplates. Now, that’s strength!
Extensive Dealer NetworkNo matter where in the world you decide topurchase and cruise your Hunter sailboat, ourextensive dealer network is trainedto be responsive to your needs. Anexclusive dealer intranet is in place to keepus in constant communication with them.Whether you need a small part sent or a largequestion answered, we are always online. Modular Interior ConstructionBy building the interior outside theboat, Hunter can reduce labor costsand increase quality because of excellentaccessibility. The interior is then bonded intothe hull to make a true unibody structure.
Upscale EntertainmentSystemsHunter now offers flat screenTVs and Bose® audio systems. Some competitors believe "roughingit is all right", but at Hunter webelieve your comfort is moreimportant. Enjoy the best in videoand audio— you deserve it!
