Operational Data Store (ODS)

•The ODS is a database that stores data in a central location for reporting and allows for integration of data from different systems.

•The data in the ODS is refreshed nightly.

Discoverer Plus Terminology

•End User Layer (EUL)▫ The EUL provides authentication and connectivity

between Discoverer Plus and the ODS.

•Business Area (BA)▫ BA’s are a collection of ODS data stored in views and

they are assigned to a specific EUL.

•Workbooks▫ Workbooks are Discoverer Plus files that contain

worksheets displaying data retrieved from the ODS.

•Worksheet▫ Worksheets contain the data that you want to analyze.
