The Path to Zero: Adopting Mobile to Break the Performance PlateauAcross asset-intensive industries globally, improving EHSQ performance has never been more vital - or difficult. According to OSHA, the strong gains made in previous waves of safety innovation have run out of steam, and further improvements have become progressively more difficult to achieve. In fact, the stagnation can be seen across multiple high risk industries, including oil and gas, chemicals, mining, transport, utilities and more. To break out of the current stasis, companies need new approaches to enable, empower, and achieve better engagement and performance. A key factor in breaking the performance plateau lies right in front of you - your people. In this session, you will learn how to turn employees into the change agent to help your organization make strides to break through the ceiling for stronger EHSQ.

Lagging to Leading to Predictive Safety

Safety professionals are tasked with continuously improving their safety cultures and eliminating injuries. They often find they can only get so far when employing traditional safety improvement methods such as safety training or lagging indicator and incident analysis. While short-term results are relatively easy to obtain, long-term sustainable results are often elusive, resulting in program stagnation leading to a plateau effect. Safety-conscious companies have begun to adopt leading indicators that, if used correctly, will show how effective their safety process truly is. In this session, you will learn what the seven leading indicators are to drive safety improvement in your organization, as well as industry proven predictive modelling that can answer the question: "Will I have an incident tomorrow?"Speaker: Cary Usrey, Predictive Solutions

Solving the Document Control DilemmaIf you don't maintain control over your documents, your quality system can be derailed. ISO 9001:2015 requires that organizations control the documents that are part of your quality management system. The best practices highlighted in this session explain why organizations must establish a documented procedure to approve documents for adequacy prior to issue, review, update as necessary, and re-approve documents and help you understand why it's important to identify the changes and current document revision status.

Key Technology Trends Fuelling IoT-enabled EHSQIoT has been shown to have significant potential in quality practices and high-risk EHS industries. When human lives and product integrity are at stake, IoT-based applications are primed to offer safe, reliable, and efficient solutions due to their ability to operate at a granular level and provide rich information in real-time or predictively. In this session, you will learn about technology trends in IoT-based applications with real-world examples from oil and gas, mining and energy, biopharma, food supply chain, and more. IoT-related challenges and proposed solutions will be discussed, as well as viable journeys to IoT-enabled EHSQ. in high risk industries.

Approach & Coach: The Art of Using Your Data to Have Engaging Employee ConversationsThe way we measure engagement today will not be how we will do it in the future. In a network of digital information now at our fingertips, it is clear, using data differently will be how we best engage the workforce. In this session, we will do a product deep dive into collecting the correct data, analyzing it, and synthesizing the critical outputs in a way that helps employees visualize the connection between their daily activities and the performance desires of the organization.Speaker: Chuck Pettinger, Predictive Solutions

Understanding the SMS to Unleash Your Safety CultureVariation that exists within system processes may be putting workers on a path to making poor decisions while performing their work and invariably compromising their safety. Tightening process methodologies ensures there’s little room for interpretation by workers that forms bad safety habits. This session will focus on best practices for gaining control of work process systems, models for assessing and determining incident/accident causation, and the system approaches to building process robustness.

Training Management: Saving Your Organization Time, Money & ResourcesSpending too much time scheduling, assigning and monitoring training requirements? Running into frustrations with your Excel based training system? Need a more efficient way of managing your organization's training program? In this session, you will learn how implementing a web-based training management system can help your organization save valuable time, money and resources by streamlining training management and administrative workflow through one centralized system.

Bridging Worker Safety & Operational Risk With Asset Reliability & Maintenance

Any building or operation along with its associated plant or equipment are physical assets which need to be managed and maintained to support your company in meeting its business responsibilities and objectives, not to mention the success of your EHS and quality programs. Equipment failure or downtime can lead to a variety of risk exposures and can result in operational risk ranging from worker health and safety risks, loss of productivity, and increased costs due to frequent asset repair and replacement. There is a clear, convergent relationship between asset management, health and safety, quality, and operational excellence. In this session, you will learn how to leverage technology to connect and automate asset reliability and maintenance with asset and equipment intelligence, the ability to manage work orders, and organize and execute preventive maintenance to protect your workforce - and your bottom line.

In this session, you will learn how to gain a 360 degree view of the most meaningful quality data, and ways to monitor and manage performance in your organization. You will discover how to interrelate product performance, process performance, customer perception, leadership outcomes, market results, and strategic performance data to drive more efficient and effective operational performance.

Connected EHSQ: Raising the Bar on Productivity, Safety & ProfitabilityThe struggle is real. EHSQ, productivity, and profitability seemingly work against each other. When "safety first" rules and ideologies prevail, the perception is that profitability suffers. Conversely, when productivity is valued above all else, employees can be put at undue risk. Productivity and profitability are undoubtedly important, but how do you make them harmonious? Connected EHSQ has the potential to not only satisfy environmental, health and safety, quality requirements and compliance needs, if implemented effectively, it can have real and demonstrable impacts on productivity and profitability. In this session, we will share strategies and real-world examples of connected EHSQ and operational excellence, as well as strategies on building your roadmap for connected EHSQ from concept to reality.
