A Button - Talk to characters or examine items in the castle, proceedthrough text, choose a character on the battlefield, or makea selection in menus.

B Button - Exit out of menus, cancel selections, and proceed through

X Button - Opens the main menu in the castle and on the battlefield,although the menus have different options. Sorts items inthe Item Bag and Storage menus, and unequips items on theCharacter Equipment menu, which sends them to the Item Bag orWarehouse. Move characters on the battlefield whileattempting to perform a skill.

Y Button - No function in the castle or most menus. On the Item Infoand

Character Info menus, it switches the information show in acycle. Heals everyone at the same time at the hospital.

Holdthis button down and press L to zoom in or out during

battles.Hold this button down and press R to cycle through your basepanel and your deployed characters during battle. Hold thisbutton down while the cursor is on a character and press adirection on the D.Pad (not the control stick) to change thedirection the character is facing.

At last you gain control of the prince and the game starts...Its in the sameroom in which Etna had awakened you from your deep slumber. You can checkoutthe weapons behind you, but it'll be of no use.

So exit the room from the exit in the botton left corner. As you come intothenext room, you'll see a big throne. Go to its back side and press A. You'llbeasked if you want to press the switch and choose YES. If you press A again,it'll say that you have pressed it too hard and its stuck and broken. Butnevermind that and descend the steps.

You'll see some more vassals of your father, the king. Talk to them for somesmall chuckles.

1) Manty : That's just like you, Prince, taking a two-year nap.Laharl : I only planned on napping for about ten days...

Hmmm... Something's not right.

2) Goleck : All the royal vassals left the castle shortly after the kingdied.

Laharl : Even with me still around?Etna : Well, you were sleeping. They must have forgotten about you.

3) Dratti : Oh well, looks like I wasted my time digging that grave for you.

Laharl : I'll put You in that grave instead!

Follow the blue carpet and exit the room. You'll then be in a corridor. Youcango either way. If you move right, you'll come across the Music Shop and hesaysthat it is under construction and asks you to come back later.

Anyway, get down the stairs and you'll see more vassals. Touch the spear likething for weapon tutorials.

2)Gargo : In order to prevent intruders, I have closed all the gates.Please talk to the "Dimensional Gatekeeper" if you'd like toleave the castle.

Laharl : Yeah, whatever...You probably just didn't want to watch the gate.

So, head up the stairs on the left and move into the next room. Its gonna bethe room most frequently visited by you, since it contains almost everythinglike: Hospital, Shop, Dark Assembly, Item World and most importantly, theDimensional Gatekeeper.

As you go down the stairs, you'll be taken into a brief tutorial about Items.

|Items can be purchased at the "Rosen Queen Co., Netherworld Branch". || ||Each character can equip upto 4 items. A character can equip 1 weapon and ||3 other items, such as armor. || ||Monsters can only equip weapons from the "Monster Only Weapons" category. || ||It is best to equip a weapon that suit's a character's inherent strengths.|| |

Then go forward and take your time observing the room and talking to variouspeople there. They will tell whatever you need to know. And remember whateveryou have seen: the shops, hospital, item world, dark congress etc.,

To the south of the shop, you'll notice three persons.

1)Pleinair : The assembly is currently not in session.

2)Kanna : There are many features in this game, like the Dark Assembly andthe Item World.Ask the appropriate people for more info.Don't worry, you can still beat the game with minimal knowledge.

3)Save shop: I keep Netherworld's records...

Here, you may view the history of Netherworld.If you get an item, it will be recorded and won't disappear,

evenif you get rid of it.Though this is just a record, it might be useful to you as a

guide.Records aren't worth any money or anything, but they can be fun.How you use my records depends on you. So what do you wish to

When you have enough mana, create a character.

BUT NEVER PUT THE CHARCTER AS GOOD FOR NOTHING!!!

In my view its better to create a Warrior or a Brawler first.I created a Brawler first. Then level him up by playing Geo Effects.

After that you can create a Cleric.

Also you can make Laharl take up the Promotion Exam if he's at atleast Lvl.4.It would easily make him go up to Lvl.5 or Lvl.6.

Take out the first 4 ghosts in front of you, in the first turn. Then, putyour 2most powerful characters on the Yellow Geo panels and place your othercharacters beside them to make Team Attacks.

I would recommend you to put Laharl and Etna/Your created Warrior. I had putLaharl and my Warrior. I had levelled him up very much in the Geo Panel

stage.

Take care of the first two boggarts in the first turn. They are more powerfulthan the ghosts, even though they look like the ghosts. Do not damage theGeo symbols. Place your characters in the water, since they have recovery 20%

in the water. Kill the ghost in the water. He IS very strong, since he has avery good equipment: Muscle Brawn, Bulletproof Vest and Protector. More overthere is Recovery 20% also, in the water.

So take your best characters to kill the ghost. Then end your turn. Make surethat your weak characters are not nearer to the archers. In your second turn,take care of the two archers with Laharl and another strong character. Thearchers SHOULD be killed in this turn.

Then kill the warrior as he approaches you. And also kill the Red Mage, ifit approaches you, or take care of it in the next turn.

Thus, this stage can be cleared. I must confess this is not a very easy stagecompared to the previous ones. So you have to level if you aren't able toclear it.

She levels up fast and can really do some damage. She gets all the gunskills,and Usagi Drop, which attacks anywhere in her range with a + formation.She is the biggest god damn boss killer in the game because of her 150% speedaptitude and 120% hit aptitude. Due to the 150% speed, if you get her therightequips and level her high enough, she could dodge all of enemy's attacks."

So, I advise you to get defeated in the mid-boss battle! Then as said abovemake Plenair join your team. Then repeat the whole game again till thisstage.You can avoid the first two tutorials. So you have to only complete, Geoeffectsand the Vyers castle. It would not be tough as your characters will be in the

same level as they were, when they got defeated.

My characters were at the following levels.

First of all take care of the boggart on your right. Then make Laharl destroythe Geo Symbols placed in a row on the left with his Blade Rush. And makesurenone of your charcters go near the Green Mage or the Archer. Whatever levelyour characters may be in they wont stand a chance against them. They havethepower of Geo Panels.

Once Laharl destroys the Geo Symbols, you can easily defeat the enemies using

the special attacks of your characters and also the normal attacks, ofcourse.

Then go against Vyers. And kill him with your specials.

First have Laharl thrown to the right of the two archers on the mountain,by Etna. You can see that on the right of the map, there are two pieces oflandwhich are higher than the usual.

Make Etna stand on the highest position and Laharl on the next highestpositionand throw Laharl using Etna onto the mountain.Then use Laharl's Hurricane slash on the nearest archer and kill her. In thenext turn, kill the other archer too.

Then make your other characters get a good stand and kill the other enemieseventually. Use laharl in the next turn to kill the Cleric. Also take careof the isolated zombie on the left.

Your characters can level in this stage.

At the end go over to the Pugilists and kill them.

WHAT I DID:-----------In the first turn I took care of the right hand three Brawlers with my Skulland Laharl. I thought of finishing off the left three Bawlers also, but theywouldn't die.In the next turn, I killed about five more Brawlers. So, only 7 more wereleft.And 4 more Pugilists at the top.By the fifth turn, I killed all of them except the 4 Pugilists on the top.I was left only with Laharl, Etna and a Warrior.Then somehow, I killed the other four Pugilists.

So, if you try like this, it'll be ok. Its not really necessary to do exactlylike this. Its just a method.
