3 FITTING THE FRONT PANEL

3.1 Technical information for installation - adjusting the front panel (fitted dishwasher)

In the fitted version, the front control panel can easily be aligned with thedrawers of the kitchen units, using the strips provided with the appliance (SeeFig. 3 and Fig. 4).

The height of the front control panel is 115 mm. There are 3 strips provided, and each one increases the height by 7.5 mm (if necessary it is possible to fitup to 5 of these strips).

3.2 Using the drilling template

When preparing the dishwasher for insertion in the kitchen units, under nocircumstances drill holes in the side walls and door of the appliance, as thismight cause it to malfunction. Before carrying out operations that requireaccess to internal components, always disconnect the dishwasher from thepower supply.

The maximum dimensions (and weight) of the wooden panels to be fitted tothe dishwasher are as follows:

The height of 610 mm, for the fitted dishwasher, must be decreased if theheight of the front panel is increased using the compensation strips. It may benecessary to trim the mopboard, should this prevent the door from openingcompletely.

To fasten the panel to the dishwasher door, bring the top edge of the template(obtained by cutting out the shape marked in the folder supplied with theappliance) (indicated by arrow A in Fig. 5 for totally hidden dishwashers inFig. 6 for fitted dishwashers) up to the top edge of the panel. Both sides of thetemplate (at top and bottom) are marked with a number of positions, corresponding to the various panel widths available.

Align the template with the right or left hand side of the panel, so that thelatter coincides with the measurement required. Trace the position of screwsby inserting the tip of a drill or a pencil into the three holes closes to the sidein question (indicated by arrow B in Fig. 5 for totally hidden dishwashers inFig. 6 for fitted dishwashers).

Repeat the above operation on the opposite side, using the corresponding sideof the template.

3.3 Fastening the brackets to the wooden door

Drill holes with a diameter of 2 mm at the positions marked. In the case ofchipboard panels, only drill the surface coat, whereas in solid wood panels theholes can be drilled deeper. Position the two brackets on the holes drilled at thebottom of the panel. The brackets must be fastened to each side, using theoutermost holes; the fins must face downwards. The connection blocks (in thetotally hidden dishwasher) must be screwed into the two top holes (Fig. 7).

3.4 Fitting the wooden door to the dishwasher

In the case of a fitted dishwasher, insert the metal fins on the bracket into theslots on the dishwasher door, moving it to the right to connect (Fig. 12).

Accompany the panel downwards again, simultaneously bringing the bottomof the panel up against the dishwasher door, so that the fins on the bracketsenter the housings provided (Fig. 14).

In both cases open the dishwasher door (the panel will support itself) andalign the solid wood with the door, bringing it into contact with the frontpanel. Remove the plastic plugs covering the holes inside the dishwasher andlock the panel in place using the screws provided (Fig. 15). Remember toclose the two holes with the plastic plugs removed as above.

3.5 Adjusting the door springs

The door must, obviously, be perfectly balanced, that is to say it must be adjustedso that it remains stationary in whatever position it is opened to.

On delivery the spring tension is adjusted to guarantee a perfect balance withlightweight wooden panels. Balance can be achieved for heavier, solid woodpanels merely by turning the screws located at the top of the appliance in aclockwise direction, making sure both screws are turned by the same amount,as shown in the figure. To do this, use a size 4 mm Allen wrench.

3.6 Fitting the wooden door to the dishwasher before installing with the client

Should it be necessary to transport the appliance to its final destination after havingfitted the wooden panel and made any adjustments to the height of the front panel(fitted dishwasher), we recommend that the original packing be used. For thisreason the packing has been designed to allow the above operations to be carriedout without having to unpack the product completely.

It is recommended that you proceed in sequence, as indicated in Fig. 21 from 1 to 6.

1. Using a knife, cut the door side of the packing along the pre-cut marks on thethree sides (1)

2. Lift up the door side of the packing, cut off the front corner elements and dis-card them (2)

3. Assemble the wooden door (3) (4)

4. Return the door side of the packing to its original position (5)

5. Seal the cuts with adhesive tape (6)

4 FITTING THE MOPBOARD

Position the dishwasher in the fitting space. Carry out the following operations:

1. Fit the continuous mopboard as indicated by the manufacturer of thekitchen units

2. Open the dishwasher door slowly to check whether the panel fitted to itbangs against the mopboard

3. If so, it will be necessary to trim the mopboard

The height required for the mopboard in the area in which the door opens(“y”) can be calculated using the following table.

Fig. 26

Fig. 27

More specifically, after inserting the two heights “a” and “b”, read across thevalues in the table to find the height “y”. Eliminate any excess mopboard.

4. Waterproof the cut surface with varnish

5 PLUMBING IN

5.1 Connecting to the water supply

5.1.1 Connecting to the cold water tap

Connect the supply pipe to a cold water tap with a 3/4" threaded mouth, taking care to fasten it tightly to the tap and inserting the filter elementcorrectly (Fig. 33).

In models fitted with a supply pipe with WATERSTOP device the filter elementis already fitted in the threaded mouth.

If the water supply pipe is new, or has not been used for some time, run thewater through it before connecting, until the water runs clear and contains noimpurities.

If this precaution is not taken, the water inlet may become clogged, damagingthe appliance.

5.1.2 Connecting to the hot water tap

The appliance can be supplied with mains hot water (hot water or centralheating system) on condition that it does not exceed a temperature of 60 ˚C.In this case the washing time will be approximately 15' shorter and thewashing efficiency will be slightly less.

5.1.3 Anti-flooding device (on some models only)

Some models are fitted with a system that cuts off the water supply in theevent of a fault in the inlet pipe or leakage from inside the appliance, THUSPREVENTING DAMAGE TO THE HOME. If for any reason the WATERSTOPbox (which contains electrical parts) is damaged in any way, immediatelydisconnect the plug from the mains power supply.

To guarantee operation of the anti-flooding safety device the box A with thewater inlet pipe must only be connected to the tap in the position illustratedin Fig. 34.

The supply pipe must never be cut, as it contains electrically poweredelements. If the pipe is not of a sufficient length for proper connection, it canbe replaced by another of the required length, available as a spare part.

5.2 Connecting to the drainage system

The drainage pipe can be connected as follows:

1. To the sink drain siphon, ensuring that the drainage pipe is fastened to theworktop to prevent water from returning to the dishwasher;

2. To a drainage pipe with a minimum diameter of 40 mm;

3. Resting it on the sink, using the special plastic U-bend provided to preventcrushing or excessive curving of the pipe (Fig. 35). The special plasticU-bend must be firmly fixed to the wall to prevent the drainage pipe frommoving and draining water anywhere but into the sink.

In all cases, the free end of the pipe must measure between 40 and 100 mmand it must not be underwater.

6 CONNECTION TO THE MAINS

Insert the plug into a power socket fitted with a proper earthing connection, after first checking that the voltage and frequency of the mains power supplycorrespond to the values indicated on the rating plate on the appliance’sstainless steel door fairing, and that the system to which it is being connected issized for the maximum load indicated on the plate. If the socket to which theappliance is connected does not correspond to the plug, always replace it witha suitable plug, rather than using adapters or extensions, as these might result inoverheating and therefore create a fire hazard.
