Statistics From USA Today: Cell phone use causes 1 in 4 car accidents.
From the NSC: 245,358 car crashes involved drivers using cell phones in 2014.
From donttextanddrive.com: Individuals who drive while sending or reading text messages are 23% more likely to be involved in a car crash than other drivers. A crash usually happens within an average of 3 seconds after a driver is distracted.
Prevention- Don’t write, send or receive a text while driving, even when stopped at a
red light or in traffic. These actions put you, and those around you, in danger.
- Turn off your cell phone and put it in your pocket. Don’t pull it out again until you’re parked.
- Don’t text while running, cycling or participating in other recreational sports. You don’t know what’s going on around you.
It’s on You- You the individual decide whether or not it’s a good idea to pull your
phone out and use it
- We all know better
- We all know what harm it can cause to ourselves and others
