FOUNDATION GIVING: Rotary Direct

Over the past 8 months, Rotarians and friends of Rotaryhave contributed over $70.7 million to the Annual Fundglobally. In North America, over $27 million wascontributed by the end of February.

Gifts to the Annual Fund help Rotarians change and savelives. Worldwide, 748 million people don’t have access toclean drinking water. We’ve provided clean water tocommunities in Ghana and Guatemala, decreasing thespread of waterborne disease and improving the lives ofpeople who live in those communities.

As we enter the last months of this Rotary year, considerreaching out to members who have not yet supported theFoundation this year and ask that he/she make adonation.

Updated Rotary Direct Form now available online -Rotarians who prefer to use their checking accountinstead of their credit card to support the Foundation on amonthly, quarterly or annual basis can use the updatedform to enroll in Rotary Direct. Encouraging donors toenroll in Rotary Direct to support the Foundation helpsminimize the work of club and district leadership andallows members to align their charitable goals with theirbudget.

Governor Doris,

On behalf of the PolioPlus team and thethousands of children that you are helping, Iwant to say thank you for the contribution ofDDF from District 5910. Your district’scontribution of $29,300 will equal $131,850when all the appropriate matches are made.

I certainly understand the competing demandswithin a district for the use of DDF. The needsare many. Managing the funds and balancing theneeds is often a thankless task. But I cannotthink of a greater need than to rid the world ofpolio. Because of your leadership and thecontributions of the Rotarians in District 5910,we are closer than ever to having a polio freeworld.

Thank you,

Doug WhinneryEnd Polio Now Zone CoordinatorZone 21b/Part of 27
