Fox Cities, Neenah and Menasha Rotary Clubs: Visiting these clubs was a privilege and they had great fellowship. I was quite inspired after meeting one of their longest members in Rotary who was 98. They just finished their fabulous Seafood Fest.  Coming soon: Neenah’s Uncorked and Uncapped (January 27th, 2017) and the Artic Open Charity Golf Outing on February 6th at Waverly Beach in Menasha

Walworth Fontana: Huge congrats on your successful Corn‐Brat Festival and raising over $90,000 in a year!  Can’t wait for next year’s event.

West Bend, Menomonee Falls, Manitowoc, Wauwatosa, West Allis, Burlington, Kenosha: These clubs were very enthusiastic groups.  I loved West Bends new location. Be sure to check out the Enchantment in the Park Nov 15th –Dec 31st in West Bend.  Burlington Rotary is holding a Friday Night at the Fights—March 31, 2017. Kenosha Rotary will be holding the Bowling, Brats, Burgers and Beer on October 16th.

Mitchell Field and Lake Geneva‐ These clubs are small yet mighty. I love sharing how Mitchell Field grew its membership from 3 new members to 18. They also started a very dynamic and hip new fundraiser called Acappella with Six Appeal that will be January 21st at South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center with headliner Vocalight.

In September Wauwatosa Mayfair Rotary Celebrated 30 years in true style.  So great to see so many of the founding members of the club and hear the stories from when they founded. In addition, they had many special guests such as the Mayor and past Mayors who shared when they started the Milwaukee Medical College and other community successes. The one common theme seemed to be the gratefulness of the community for all the Wauwatosa Mayfair Rotary Club has done and continues to do to make the community better.

Consider a Tri‐Club or Bi‐Club Visit for your 2017 District Governor Visit.

Whitnall Park: Thank you James Thorsen for volunteering to help with the 2017 Miller Park Event. I am still amazed at the Boerner Rotary Path/Circle they completed.

Oconomowoc: What a busy club! They are definitely involved in all the Avenues of Service and truly exhibit vibrancy in their club meetings.  Be sure to save the date for their annual Oconomowoc Brewfest, March 4, 2017. This event does sell out.

Manitowoc Sunrise Rotary Club Celebrated their 25th Anniversary in an unforgettable fashion by raising $30,700 and giving it away that evening to charities. What is very unforgettable is that the founders gathered 29 new Rotarians in 3 months. The club has committed to having 25 new members by the end of the year.

Plans are coming along well with the 2017 District Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In addition to refreshing and recharging your battery and all the great fellowship we hope to give you a different perspective on the 5 avenues of Rotary Service—Community, Vocational, Club, International and Youth with the underlying key of the Rotary International Foundation.

New this year‐ Friday, June 2nd, we will be holding a leadership training day during the conference for all youth Interact members (Ages included: 7th grade through 12th Grade) plus all exchange students.  This fabulous program will be done by Chuck Zamora, who is an outstanding speaker. This will be a fabulous opportunity for youth in our Districts.

EVENTS AT DISTRICT CONFERENCE

Friday’s Lunch Speaker Barbara Nieviadonski will be the Friday’s lunch speaker.  She gives a truly one of a kind presentation. At Central States she received a standing ovation and people were crying. She will definitely give us a new perspective.

Great Hotel Rate at Potawatomi We are very fortunate to share that we will have a great rate of $129 a night at the Potawatomi Hotel, a beautiful new hotel. If you stay the night you will get free valet parking as you pull up to the Vegas style entry. Free self‐parking will also be available to those who do not stay the night.

Friday Night Speaker, Power Networking and Socialization We are in the works for finding a keynote speaker to finish Friday Night. More details on the speaker will be released at a later date.  We will also have a power networking event planned, as well as socialization time to meet everyone involved. Come ready to meet lots of people and leave with lifetime friends and connections.

Million Dollars Day on Saturday, July 3rd Walk to be at Milwaukee County Zoo What we love most about this event is it will be for Rotarians and Non‐Rotarians, so bring a family or friends or recruit a team.  For example, the Milwaukee North Sunrise Club is actively recruiting a team of veterans to participate. The Alumni Committee is planning recruiting a team of Alumni (past Group Study Exchange, Scholarship Recipients, or Youth Exchange).  So put your creative thinking cap on and join us for a really fun time as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Rotary and work on the final push to End Polio Now.
