Current Status Analysis

Momentum to Industrial Growth :

Kolhapur & Its surrounding having industrial presence

before independence. In the industrial development got special

momentum due to designated backward area benefits since

1970. As fall out of this policy specially co-op industrial estate &

MIDC’s establish at various location in the district which

transformed the region with viable industrial agglomerations.

Present Industrial Status : • Currently 7 MIDC’s & 11 Co-op Industrial Estate

• An industrial base for sectors such as Textile, Engineering, Foundry &

Agro Base Industries.

• More than 25000 small & 22 large companies providing employment

more than 14834 people in industries.

• Basic infrastructure facility like Road (NH4), Rail, Air Connectivity &

assure rain fall
