WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAYToday in worship as we receive communion, we are reminded that the Church of Jesus Christ is global in scope. Brothers and sisters around the world will also be gathering at the Lord’s table today. Our communion is not only with God and each other, but with other believers world-wide, all joined by Jesus Christ the head of the Church.
This Sunday our communion table features a tablecloth created especially for Peachtree in honor of the partnership shared for many years between Peachtree and the Independent Presbyterian Church of Caicó, Brazil. The hand embroidered inscription reads “united in evangelization of the northeast Sertão region.”
Our flags represent some of the global partnerships that Peachtree has shared over the past ten years including China, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Malawi, North Korea and Pakistan.
Peachtree Presbyterian Church has established “A Living, Lasting Legacy” as a sound, effective means to provide future financial support to expand and enhance the Church’s mission by providing opportunities for individuals and families to help build the Peachtree Trust, the Church trust fund.
“A Living, Lasting Legacy” is designed to encourage thoughtful, prayerful and timely consideration of what will happen to our individual assets after our lifetime. Included are practical tools which provide information that can be helpful in planning for this eventuality that each of us must face.
We invite you to pick up “A Living, Lasting Legacy” notebook in the Williams Center after each of the services.

prayerofconfession Gracious and loving God, in the wilderness you gave bread
to your people, providing manna for them every morning. They responded to your grace with complaints and grumbling. refusing to trust you for daily bread, they tried to gather more than they needed. We repeat that story in our own lives. Forgive us for refusing to trust you for our daily bread. Forgive us for being discontent and restless with what we have. Forgive us for overlooking the needs of others in our abundance. We ask you humbly today for our daily bread. Make us a glad and thankful people as we continue our confession in silence…
