UNICEF, the only organization of the United Nations dedicated exclusively to children, works with other

United Nations bodies, governments and non-governmental organizations to assist in children’s

needs through community-based services in primary health care, basic education, and safe water and sanitation in more than 150 developing countries.

UNICEF shares the Kiwanis family’s global

commitment to children and has provided its extensive resources and leadership to assist in the

Worldwide Service Project to virtually eliminate Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) from the globe.

What is UNICEF?

Trick-or-treat

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF has empowered

generations to make lasting change in their global community by collecting donations on

Halloween for UNICEF. Key Club has been trick–

or–treating for UNICEF since 1994, and over the

years has raised nearly $5 million for Iodine

deficiency programs worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs in Kenya and Swaziland.

Key Club has set a goal to raise $1.5 million through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF for Operation Uruguay! The funds raised will help at-risk Uruguayan children and adolescents who live in

poverty.

Every Club will receive a fundraising kit right after Labor Day that includes Trick-or-

Treat for UNICEF collection boxes, a

campaign kit and poster, a DVD, and

more resources to help you conduct your

campaign. Instead of collecting candy, you can collect change and donations to

raise money for Operation Uruguay. You

can go trick-or-treating in your

neighborhood, in your school, or in your

local areas. You can also host fundraisers

at your school by hosting a competition

amongst classes to see who can

raise the most money for UNICEF and reward the winner with the

most money! Show UNICEF

your service by trick-or-treating

for them on Halloween!

How can you help?

Selena was appointed a

UNICEF Ambassador in

September 2009,

becoming the youngest

UNICEF Ambassador in the

United States. On her first

official field mission for

UNICEF, Selena traveled to

Ghana in West Africa

where she witnessed the

work UNICEF is doing to

help get kids the things

they need to survive and

thrive—like clean water,

food, education and medicine.

Can’t spell scare without care! Does your key

club need help with raising money or coming up

with ideas to do for Halloween? Want to do

something fun and exciting while doing service

to? Well here are some ideas and fundraisers

you can do with your key club for Halloween.

SSppooookkyy FFuunnddrraaiisseerrss

Costume Modeling Show! Host a modeling show near you’re area and

get people to dress up in their scariest costume! Have a competition on who can make the scariest costume and have everyone

participate in the modeling show. This is a great way to spend time with your key club and you can even raise money by selling tickets. Get

scary and walk the runway with your costume!

Trunk or Treat A Trunk or Treat is a Halloween event that your

key club can participate. People gather and park their cars in a large parking lot. They open their trunks, or the backs of their vehicles, and

decorate them. Then they pass out candy from their trunks. The event provides a safe family environment for trick or treaters. You can host a

competition to see who has the most decorate truck and reward the winners with Halloween

prizes. This is event is mostly for toddlers and children, so try not to get to scary with your trucks!

Halloween Screening Get your key club to host a Halloween Screening in which key clubbers can come and watch a killer thriller! Of course you don’t want

the movie to be to scary where they’ll have nightmares, but keep them entertained! This is a

great way to spend time with your key clubbers and have fun!

Haunted Mansion Create a Halloween Mansion with your key clubbers

and get families and kids to attend to get some scare! You can raise money by charging at

the door and while you’re scaring little kids, you can have people sell food or candy to the customers.

This is a great way to raise money and have a little fun while scaring

others. Key Clubbers can dress up and create their own ways to scare!

Fall Festival Your Key Club can host a fall festival for Halloween. It does take a little work, but with teamwork and effort you can do anything! Create

games and activities to do at the festival and sell food like pumpkin pie, caramel

apples, and more. You can even host a carving

pumpkin contest, or fastest pie eater. Incorporate a few service projects too like UNICEF or Trunk-a-Treat. This is a great idea to raise

money and it’s definitely going to be something fun to do!

Sell Sell Sell! Host a bake sale at school and sell goods like ghost cookies, pumpkin

brownies, spooky cupcakes, and more! Get your key clubbers together to help provide the

goods and to help sell! You can also sell treats with some fun Halloween candy. If you need

any key club fundraising products to sell then go to www.keyprofits.com.
