Hello Division 4!

Now that school and everyone is back into the

school life schedule, it’s the perfect time to

get Key Club activities and recruitment up

and running at your school! I hope the every-

one is as excited as I am for this year, as I know

it will be a great one filled with many fantastic

things

Yours in service,

Katherine Gall,

A.N. Myer Secondary School

Lieutenant Governor –District 4

Eastern Canada District

Key Club International

Remember:

Due date for the Youth

Opportunities Fund is

October 15th!

We have much planned for this year, and challenges are bound to come

along the way. My only advice is be prepared to face difficulties, but know

that you have the full support system of fellow Key Clubbers to help you out.

Be open and helpful to new members, and be supportive and encouraging to

current members.

I hope to visit each of the clubs soon and look forward to meeting the new

and old faces of Division 4- Thundering Waters. See you all soon!

Kiwanis Spotlight:

Trick or Treat for UNICEF

4

Trick of Treat for UNICEF is held on Halloween each year, and I encourage all

clubs to participate this year.

UNICEF shares the Kiwanis family’s global commitment to children and since

1994, Key Club has raised nearly US$5 million for iodine deficiency programs

worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs through the help of UNICEF. Now we

are helping The Eliminate Project.

The goal is to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus through The Eliminate

Project by raising US$110 million by 2015.

This year, the Service Leadership Program goal is to raise more

than US$1 million!

Kiwanis Spotlight:

Trick or Treat for Unicef

5

Once you’ve collected all of your donations, send a check to the Kiwanis

Foundation of Canada. CLEARLY indicate that it is for Key Club Trick or Treat,

and make sure you indicate your club name on the cheque too.

Write your club name or club number on the memo line of the check so your

club is recognized for its efforts to help eliminate MNT.

It’s important to send your check directly to the Kiwanis Foundation of Cana-

da. KFC matches what clubs raise - $1 for every $3 received. Kiwanis Service

Leadership Programs plan to raise US$7 million of the total US$110 million Kiwa-

nis will raise by 2015 for The Eliminate Project.
