The study was con<lucte<l hy a i;eologist reg·istcred in the Stat" of ~California an<l the primary conclusion of the rcsul ting nipc,.rt ·is that there is no ov·idence of an active fault t:ruc..:e c,.~ross.ing the study area. The Study Arca includns appr·oxirnately 10 acres which is situated i11 the Sun J(u.rnon Valley, cast of Interstate lli1;hw'1y 680 (sec Map 1). This area 1 ies in the Sped al Study Zone whieh encompasses potent b 11 y act i vc and recently active traces of the Caln.verus ;i.nd Pleusanton faults (offi chl maps d:.l.ted ,.JuJy l, 1974). Although no st1::>pl~ct.ed trtic.es hove been maµpeJ through the s:Ltf:~, the IYtojection of an air photo 1inoation shown on t11e Special Study ZorHe 111:1p would cross the study area (sec Map 2). It. should be cmphat:iizcd that the air photo 1 int:.~r1t·ion is not known to be fauJ.t related.

As with all potential field data, it is not possible to deternii.nc hoth the shape and depth of tlrn bo<ly produ<':i.ng the anomaly. As n. consequence of th·i.s, w0 need good geologic control in order to 1rn.1kc realist.ic. intt.~rpretr1tions. Reviewing the magnetic dat<l in this f·tumc of reference, J see the following:

Tht::.re is no cvJ dence thHt the brood anomaly is f1111.lt related. However, its origin Is not established by cx·isting data.
