DIVISION MEMORANDUM No. _35_,2016

2016 DIVISION MASS TRAINING OF GRADE 5 TEACHERS ON K TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM To : Education Program Supervisors School Heads ( Elem.) SEPS, EPS II, ICT Grade 5 Teachers

1. To ensure the effective implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program, the Division of La Carlota City shall conduct a live-in K to 12 Mass Training of Grade 5 Teachers from May 22 – 28, 2016.

2. The training aims to enable Grade 5 teachers to: a. appreciate the K to 12 coded curriculum and practice using the curriculum guides; b. demonstrate understanding of the issues/ concerns relative to content, performance standards,

assessment and rating system; c. discuss how to use the curriculum guide in planning for instruction; d. identify the most appropriate pedagogies and understand how to localize and indigenize the

curriculum; e. how to access the LRMDS portal; and f. cite connections of daily teaching and learning to the development of essential skills, 21st century

skills, and learning outcomes.

3. Participants to this training are all teachers handling Grade 5 classes. See Enclosure No.1.

4. Participants are required to bring the following : a. laptop/cellphone with internet access b. extension cord c. pocket wifi d. Curriculum Guide and Budget Outlay ( Grades 4 and 5 ) e. World and Philippine Map

5. Board and lodging of the participants during the MTOT shall be charged to Human Resource Development

for Teaching, Teaching- Related, Non-Teaching and other personnel downloaded to the DepED, La Carlota City for FY 2016 GAA with SARO No. OSEC-6-16-1353.

6. Travel expenses of teachers, trainers, QAME team and management staff as per DepED Memorandum No.16 s. 2015 shall be charged to local funds subject to the usual accounting, auditing rules and regulations.

7. Quality Assurance and Monitoring and Evaluation (QAME) team is advised to report only on the schedule

of their subject area. See Enclosure No. 2 (Training Matrix ).

8. Participants, trainers and management staff in the MTOT shall be entitled to service credits in accordance with the provision of DepED Order No. 19 s. 2011 and DepED Order No. 53, s. 2003. On the other hand, non-teaching staff shall be provided with Compensatory Time-Off (CTO) per CSC and DBM Joint Circular No. 2, s. 2004. See Enclosure No. 3 (Working Committees ).

9. Venue will be announced later.

10. Wide dissemination and compliance of this memorandum is desired.
